Tony Robbins 400 million day

I heard Tony Robbins said he made 400 million dollars in a day with a company that went public, or something like that? Does anyone know how he did it? I'm just curious and I can't find it on the internet.

Damn, the man is worth almost half a billion now...

If he's saying that he made $400M in a day off of them going public, it sounds to me like an IPO. Most likely, he invested in the company when they were private and once the company went public, his shares went up in value due to the public pushing up the price of the company's stock. It happens all the time.

Same thing happened w/ a guy who was commissioned to do some artwork for Facebook. Originally, he was going to charge Mark Zuckerberg $60k for the job, but he opted for equity in Facebook instead. After Facebook's IPO, his shares were worth over $200M.

you mean like an IPO or a company that floated on the NYSE (new york stock exchange)

"floated" just means it has officially listed on the exchange for regular folk to invest or trade it as an individual equity.

I think tony robbins does this from time to time, he will buy it off market (which you can do for a $x amount of dollar) with the intention to sell it for $X amount profit once it lists on the market.

I know TR does this from time to time, but I have never heard he made this much on one float. WOW!

He said this in a video that he did with John Reese and Frank Kern,
after John Reese said how he made 1 million dollars in a day.

Tony made the 400 million in a single day when his company went
public. So, it was the shares of the company that hit the 400 million
    mark in a single day.

Here's the video - very worth watching if you haven't watched it
    before:

Here's a thread on here of warriors discussing the video. I think
even John Reese joined the discussion on the warrior thread:

Having an "exit" strategy is what makes you wealthy from your business - this could be an IPO where you own options that become shares or it could be a sale of your private business to someone else (merger or acquisition) where you get cash, stock/options or a combination of each.

Exit strategies need to be part of your thinking when you start any new business, most IM'ers don't give this any thought and pursue a path that is less appealing when it comes to eventually cashing out.

$400 million but you gotta realize that isn't cash. I'm not saying it's worthless but don't think that he has hundreds of million in the bank because of that deal.

      Same here Anoop.

I set fire to my back garden, let it cool down to hot embers, visualised myself walking over it with no issues, then ended up burning both of my legs off.

Taking a decent company public, can make anyone millions to billions of dollars, literally overnight. Mark Cuban became a billionaire, after his company went public.

I stopped listening to Tony when The Salty Droid uncovered some juicy behind the scenes audio clips in Tony's office with all his minions plotting their next score about how they were going to push some big expensive online seminar on "dreamers". It's was all about money, money, money. And how much they could shake out of naive people with a dollar and a dream.

I enjoyed his tapes and seminars in the early years, 1990's, but that totally put me off anything to do with him. He's still a great speaker though. So I guess if you want to eat the sausage, it's better not to know how it's made!

That doesn't sound real. In other words, I don't believe that anyone would really have that conversation. I've been on the inside for content and product creation...my own and others. I've never heard anything like it. Not even close. In other words, I think it's a lie. I would have to see more evidence than someone spewing this stuff on a forum or a blog.

I agree; it's probably BS. Salty Droid is apparently just a community of bitter jealous whiners that like to attack other marketers.

While I think the Salty Droid serves a great purpose, that of calling out the BS in the marketing community, I am at amazed at some of the followers...particularly those that post comments. They're nothing but a bunch of angry, hateful, bitter rejects who hate to see anyone selling anything.

I remember an article I was reading on there and the author was talking about someone selling "get rich quick overnight" products, to which I also stated my disdain for. Not even 5 minutes later, someone replies to my comment and accuses me of being a hypocrite because I expressed my disdain for get-rich-quick products but at the same time, selling copies of Napoleon Hill's work. A logically thinking person would known that Napoleon Hill's work and these magical, push-button products are not one in the same...but this person was too stupid to realize it. As I began to read more comments, I began to realize that most of the SD fanbase consists of people like that...who hate to see anyone sell anything.

In my opinion, the problem with the community starts with the leader, who sets a tone of paranoia, hate, juvenile insults, and bitterness against successful marketers.

Anyone that builds a conspiracy theory around the fact that some of the most successful internet marketers coordinate the timing of their launches, and promote for each other is either a bitter loser, or a cynical manipulator of bitter losers, or both.

In theory, your statement about the service of calling out BS in the marketing community is true; it would be a good service. In practice, the Droid does a disservice by the recklessness of his attacks.

The best thing you can say about the site is it's a waste of time. If anyone needs to be called out for BS in the marketing community, it is the Droid; not his many, seemingly random targets (well, random but for the one thing they have in common that seems to be most vexing to him; they all have some success at selling).

  • Hi cup243,

I doubt Tony made $400 million encouraging clients to walk on a bed of red hot coals with their bare feet.

As another poster stated, he probably had invested in a company prior to its Initial Public Offering then his interest in that company may have skyrocketed his equity when it actually did go public. $400 million is a huge amount for a day's work but not uncommon with Wall Street now-a-days!

400 million dollars in a day??

This figure is equivalent to revenue of a giant companies such as Wal Mart, Exxon, etc.

If Robbins make 400 million dollars in a month, this makes sense. Because Robbins business is not equivalent to the giant companies.
