Best way to split test domain names?

Hey guys,

I have some good URLs reserved in the weight loss niche and I'd like to test each out to see not only which ones get the most clicks, but also be able to figure out demographic info on who's clicking each so I can then build a very targeted site on each.

Any suggestions for what networks and methods to use to perform such a test?

I'm thinking Facebook might have the best means of tracking such demographic data, but I'm still unclear whether they even allow weight loss advertisers or if I'd be violating any terms?

Thanks!

You can probably start with using Google Analytics on your sites.

  • Thanks - but what I mean is before I build the sites out (I'll start with a generic landing page for now), I want to run some PPC for these different domains and see what demographics tend to click on which URL names. That way I can really target the content of each site as I build it out.

For example, if I find that women ages 35-50 tend to click URL1, that's who I'll target the content towards on this URL as I build the site out.

If I find that men ages 20-30 click URL2, that's who I'll target the content towards as I build this site out, and so on.

I know Tim Ferriss mentioned he did something similar when he was trying to find the best title for his book 4 Hour Work Week - I want to do the same thing so I not know know which URLs are getting the most clicks, but who's clicking which URL.

    Thanks!

Build 2 sites with 2 different URLs and then put up some paid ads on FB / Google and see what happens.
