Question About Article Writing & Blog Post To Get Traffic

I have recently started a new local and online auction house. Because i will be conducting auctions online also, id like to start getting traffic to my site for bids from all over. I will be selling a lot of antiques, collectibles and memorabilia. I have a blog on my site that i was planning on writing an article/blog post each day in regards to an item in the upcoming sale or just about the antique & collectible world in general. What are some good ways to get these blog post im writing out there to the world to help bring bidders into my site?

Also what tips and tricks would you recommend i use for my social media for this business? I currently setup a Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest but only have a handful of my exsiting friends as followers so for.

Thanks for all the help!

Use myblogguest.com to find people who will publish your blog post with your link in it. I don't own MBG but I do use it for my clients.

One thing I think a lot of folks forget is that some of the most valuable things you can do involve making yourself valuable to the people who already have what you want.

The short version is "give to get"...

The longer version involves things like, as writeaway mentioned, guest blogging and/or content syndication. Good, competent content about the antique/collectible markets is more valuable than articles about specific items up for sale.

I'm no social media maven by any stretch, but the small successes I have had in this arena came by giving - likes, retweets, pins, etc. to people who already reach the audience I want to reach. And do it for the sake of doing it, for helping their audience, not for what you want in return. You will be noticed, and when you want something liked, tweeted, pinned, etc. people will gladly return the favor.

      Paid advertising is another route.

Suppose one of the items up for sale is an old-school 'Billy Baroo' putter. You can actually target Facebook users who have indicated an interest in collecting antique golf equipment.

    Hi...

To get word out about a new venture, definitely consider a press release.

There are a variety of article writing and distribution services around.

You can purchase a solo mailing to someone with a large list of antique/collectible buyers.

    Much Success,

Don't bother with free PR places. Use offline PR for best results. If you want to use PR sites for backlinks, don't bother. Either they got penalized by Google or will soon be due to Google's disavow tool. Use PR the way it's supposed to be used-posting NEWSWORTHY stuff.

Well all the stuff i will be writing will be original content because it will be all exclusive to one piece in the auction. So the better i write a description and article about the piece, i know it will help bidders who cant actually come see the item for themselves. So after i write the article for the piece, where are some other good places to post that blog post/article or other ways to get people to see that article so they may want to bid on that item?

There are three great methods for "free" promotion. These include RELEVANT and APPROPRIATE

      Forums
      Blogs
      Other types of sites.

Make relationships with other forums, blogs and other sites (e.g. facebook, twitter, etc) that also have auction sites.

Do NOT blast them with posts etc that simply sell your item, but figure out where it can be appropriately placed.

Have a signature down at the bottom of your posts that users can follow (make it interesting)

Those are a few good ways!

This is the key: RELATIONSHIPS. In other words, become an ALLY of the people who OWN those websites. People who own sites are always looking for QUALITY and RESPONSIVE content. They aren't looking for spam. By focusing on a relationship, you can come back over and over again and not be deemed a threat or an annoyance, in fact, you'll be viewed as an asset. It takes time and effort but thankfully, these can be outsourced to people who have the patience for it. Regardless, it NEEDS to be done.

You can still do the typical ways of advertising in social media and other relevant sites as they can still generate you traffic but paid advertising works better.

Try putting ads onto facebook for your facebook page, that has helped me out a lot. Also, put the facebook like widget on your page so people can like your page through that.

A good plugin for allowing people to share your blog post is called "share this", it's what I use on my sites.

You can also look at syndicating your own content ('content syndication').

That involves finding websites (and blogs) in your niche that will accept content from third parties.

I suppose you could almost say 'content syndication' is like 'guest blogging' on steroids.

We all know the 'old' automated ways that were once used to get backlinks, have just about vanished thanks to Google's crackdown on those automated link building systems.

Today Google wants to see your links built 'naturally' and 'Content syndication' is one the most powerful ways to build quality backlinks naturally, and to generate unlimited 'targeted' traffic to your site.

If you want to know an easy way to find content syndication partners, let me know.

For me the first thing you need to do is make a Press Release and build a lists.
Here are some tips for you to build your own lists:
    1. Google Ads
    2. Solo Ads (Buying lists that fit to your business)
    3. Facebook Ads
    4. or any type of online advertising

If you have already your list don't forget to give them value. You can use an Autoresponder software for that.

Writing and submitting your blogs will really help you increase your visibility over the web. Blog commenting will also help. So writing your own blog really matters because it is one way of building your own reputation and if you already build a good reputation then many people will look after you.

    Hope it helps.

You can try posting to Squidoo or Tumblr and put in your blog site in any of the post relevant to your site. You can also try Instagram its been a good tool for getting web presence. And with your Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter - keep sharing posts relevant to what you're selling.

Aside from Ezine you can also try - ArticleSnatch, Article Blast and Article Base

Finding blogs to post your guest posts is not as easy as it sounds.

The downsides with MBG are as follows:
The most eager publishers don't have PR
The most eager publishers don't have much traffic
The most eager publishers don't pay much attention to quality

The way to fix this is to be very specific in your notes and really WAIT until the right publisher approaches you. The downside is that you lose money for every day you wait since the PRO account at MBG costs $.

It is easy to find sites in any specific niche that are receptive to receiving content from you......if you know how to do it effectively

If you've got massive patience to wait until potential content syndication partners come 'sniffing around' your site, that's fine.

For me though, I don't sit back and passively wait for site owners and publishers to find me.

I actively task myself each day to research sites in my niche, then I determine which sites might be a good fit with the type of content I offer. Only then will I start to establish contact and start a relationship with the site owner or webmaster.

And I don't excluded any site as a potential content syndication partner, no matter what their PR. I also look at many other factors

I mean a site that has a PR5 today, started out at some stage with a PR0.

On the opposite side of the coin, if I get any approaches from people wanting to offer me content, then I have very specific criteria that they must meet. Top of the list is the 'quality' of the content they want to offer. As an example, I won't accept any contributions that are less than 700 words

Thanks for the advice. I talked to someone earlier who for a pretty hefty fee, did a press release i believe he said with the Nasdaq something where they email the press release to a huge list of big news sites, blogs, etc. Does anyone know how to go about doing this myself or finding the same kind of list?
