Well, if the only place your are marketing that particular ClickBank product is through that banner you can always look at your ClickBank stats.

Otherwise you will need some kind of tracking software or script that tracks clicks on links.

If you're using WordPress there are plugins that will easily track clicks on links. Or if not using WordPress you can use a variety of scripts to track the clicks. You can also use services to split-test the banner and find out the CTR (Click-Through-Rate) of each banner so you know which banner(s) perform best.

To setup tracking of specific traffic source in ClickBank go to you offer in the ClickBank marketplace.
You will see 2 fields on the form, if you click on "Promote" button of Your offer in ClickBank:
    (1) Account Nickname:
    (2) Tracking ID (Optional):
put your ClickBank username into first field and some ID for your banner into second. For example:
    (1) Account Nickname: cbname
    (2) Tracking ID (Optional): site1bunner2

    Generate the link.
Get this link and put it into your banner.

Check Your banner clicks in Reportin->Analitics by choosing "By Tracking Id" option in the left under "HOPS".
You will see "Hops By Tracking Id" table in the bottom with hops for every Tracking ID that you specifyed in the second field of link generation form.

Use the tid= parameter to try clicks on a specific ad with ClickBank.

Of course you don't get an impression count (how many times the banner is displayed), and tid's dont work for non-clickbank ads.

The general solution for banners is to use banner tracking software. This will give you impressions & click-thrus. This will allow you to try and different banners, and see which gets the best response. You need both bits of data, because if you just know banner A say got 10 sales/leads, and banner B got 5 sales/leads, it doesn't tell you anything -- it makes A look better on first glance - but what if, for example, A was seen by 5 times as many people as B - in this case, B would be actually be better
