Subscriber Podcast Strategies

I just read an article where someone suggested putting your initial podcasts available on your site to the public at large and then charging for archived copies. I think I could do well with this strategy.

Question though:

I don't know where to get started. What tools, services, platforms can do this for me, I.e. collect revenue and then give someone access to a firewall?

I do not use WordPress or Joomla by the way.

    I know podcasters who tried a similar model: 4 free podcasts per month and 2 "extra" podcasts that were only available if you paid a monthly subscription free. He eventually did away with the subscription model and his revenues from his products and affiliate products has gone up.
