Kindle Publishers: do you diversify to other publishing opportunities? other formats?

Hi All..

I have been working on Kindle part-time for a couple of months now. I am making an increasing amount of revenue, and I am working on new titles to be published shortly.

My question is: how do you diversify?

1. Are you publishing on other websites?

I have heard about Nook and a few other places, but haven't published to any of them yet. The format is slightly different correct? Besides, Nook, what other options are worth it in terms of having a place to publish new digital titles.

2. What about audio?

Is anyone converting the documents to audio files? I want to learn more about this. I know that there is a segment of people that enjoy listening to content rather than reading it. I want to reach them.

3. What about print versions of your titles?

What are the best options in terms of selling titles in print format?

Creating content allows you to go wide (ie. choosing from an infinite amount of topics) and go deep (ie. formatting that content to a variety of different media).

What tips are you hiding to maximize Kindle profits?

Well there's probably a reason why I'm the first that answers your interview type post.

But I've been doing Kindle for around 2 years and here's my answers:

    1. No. You might want to post some ebooks on itunes but don't use the same ones.
2+3. I didn't any of them but I remember something that haunts me : Print can double your book sales and audio is similar to the print version: sure you can generate more sales with that version but it can also be seen as another way to better market your kindle book.

I wish I had the URL to a great blog post I read last month but I just can't remember who published it. It detailed how you can take a blog post/srticle and have that one piece of content transcend in to 10 different mediums like podcasts, ebooks, slideshows etc. Was a really good article to reference for your needs, you might have some luck searching for it in Google perhaps?

    Sorry I can't help more.

How about from those that are currently publishing on Kindle?

How much do you use other websites like B&N Nook, Smashwords, etc?

Yep. B&N (Nook) brings me the most sales (I mean other than Amazon), then iTunes, the Kobo. Those are the only platforms I have so far.

    2. What about audio?
I haven't tried audio... too much to learn and finding a professional to read the book was overwhelming to me (oh, and costly too - lol). Would love to hear from others if this is worth it.

Yep, always do a print version. Some of my books sell more in print than on kindle. I use CreateSpace for mine.
