There is a huge market but I am just not sure how you would monetize it.

I was searching for something last night and ended up at a porn site that was all free videos

Apparently ordinary people post videos of themselves on the internet for free viewing. So if there is so much free stuff available why would people pay?

As an aside, one woman had over 800 videos posted of herself and several (many) partners over a two year period. Sheeze ... that is busy ..... :confused:

Are those sites even legal? A lot of the videos on there are quite long, not just short 2-3 min videos so it seems like their from membership porn sites.

Yep, you are completely true. The worst part is how to monetize it. Sell memberships for top videos I'm sure its not a good idea. People for obvious reasons don't like to spend money. I think that should focus only in some trusted cpa or something like this.

I'd be interested too. I had a custom made WordPress tube site built a few years ago (before the ready built scripts hit the market) and it is just rotting. I know I should delete it but i hate to see it go. It annoyed me how poorly adult traffic converted as getting it in mass was the easiest thing ever.

I made a quick search and looks there's no free CMS for adult sites. So the "best" would use something like drupal or even wordpress.

My big worries would be about how to host the videos and how to get them.... yep downloading and uploading from big sites looks a good idea, but if the content is protected and bla bla bla?

A lot of my customers run adult sites. These are mostly WordPress-based tubes on sponsor-hosted content (the streaming videos provided directly by affiliate programs). As far as I know, they do pretty well.

For example, it allows you to syndicated videos from any existing tube or sponsor-hosted XML feed. Any tips on how to get video content? I can only imagine downloading manually one by one and uploading.. would take forever. How could I get this automated, somehow spider videos from larger portals and then possibly modify, cut the crap etc.

When the content count goes to millions, it's just impossible to have the same one as the others. At least, there will be 99% chance that your surfer just haven't seen your content on other sites, even if it's really available everywhere.

I downloaded a WP theme from WP.orgs free themes where the thumbnail on the index/frontpage got hotlinked from the Youtube site thumbnail view. The theme is gone and I tried to find it again on my harddrives, but it will require some digging. But, it was a nice snippet of code to automatic show the Youtube thumb as a thumbnail on the index of the blog.

Of course I wanted to aim for the top, but you all know how hard and "impossible" it is.

For the other opinions, thanks, I already have some ideas.

Just a question, an adult site with only pics, have some chance to do well? Another silly question as videos are more "pleasurable" to see, but uploading images would be a faster job.

There are no problems running a big tube site on WordPress. If you are worried about server overloading, simple install this plugin and you'll be fine: WordPress › Really Static « WordPress Plugins

Well, I started looking for a decent domain name and as you already know it's so hard to grab one. Few minutes ago I registered a 3 words .com domain, I know it's not the ideal, but it's an easy domain to remember. Will take a free wordpress domain and start uploading only photos for this site.

Will see how it performs with no videos. The worst it may happen its waste a 10 bucks and some 30 minutes per day uploading hot girls photos. LoL

Manually uploading? No way! Set it on autopilot and forget about it. Let your site populate itself from RSS and XML feeds. There are 1000's of them available for free and legal use (no copyright-related issues).
