Who Outsources Their Copy?

I finished my first product and I need a solid sales page. What I need to know from you is where do you find your sales page writers and how much do you pay them?

You can get a salesletter for $100 on the WSO forum
or on elance. It may not be good for business, but it
will be a start for you.

Getting the kind of copy and marketing strategist that
puts some fuel in your rocket will be proportionate to
how high you want to fly, so to speak.

I've got a larger budget than that. And I don't want anything that isn't good for business.

Head over to the copywriting part of the Warrior Forum, there are many expert copywriters there. Of course, most of them charge between $5K and 25K. And yes, there are WSOs from time to time selling salesletters for less than a thousand bucks.

I personally wouldn't go to outsourcing sites merely because I can trust Warriors to understand IM, my product, and my target audience.
Can you get a solid sales letter for less than 5K on the WF?

Yes. Claiming a good letter cannot be had for
less than $5k is a bit extreme - but you
generally will get not much more value than
you are willing to pay for.

Much of writing copy is in research and figuring
out the tactic and hot-buttons to use for your particular
offer, geared to the exact TIME it is launched. A
salesletter that worked a year ago may not work well
today - because the market is in motion.

If you really want to understand what goes into it
read "Breakthrough Advertising" by Eugene Schwartz.
It's a pricey book but it's pure gold.

I just turned down a job to write a sales page.

Actually, I've turned down 2 in the last few days.

(The first was way under-priced and I was busy.)

The second one, though, is instructive.

I did not actually talk to the prospect directly, but thru an intermediary.

It came down to this: the person was creating their first online product. The product had to do with some facet of making money online.

But the person had no experience in doing this, apparently, and no proof.

    That said...

I'm not saying that's true about your product.

But writing sales copy for a product that has no proof of effectiveness...well, I couldn't sleep at night doing that.

In spite of what some people think about copywriters.

Quite a few of us do have standards and we do have ethics.

And they aren't gutter ethics, either.

I'm an AWAI-certified copywriter. I occasionally do salesletters here for MUCH lower than what I charge in real life simply because I enjoy giving back to the warrior forum the same way it helped me starting out - and I know many people could use a leg up when they're first starting an online business.

Most of what I do is entirely web-based copywriting or SEO copywriting. It can get as much as an 85% conversion rate (VERY targeted mailing). I've also done direct mail which tends to get around 15% with fair targeting. It all depends on your market and your niche.

I've written copy for several well-known national brands. Send me a private message if you'd like to see some samples and references.
