MLM = Making Lots of Money or...

It totally depends on the person. My parents and uncle and aunt were both full time in Amway for over 10 years in the 1980s. I personally know people who have earned over $1 Million Dollars in various MLM programs.

On the other hand the attrition rate in MLM is bad. Around 95% of the people quit. Many of them spend more then they earn. That is not the fault of the business model, but rather the fact that people who join do not have business skills and fail to learn and implement them.

MLM = Make you lose Money

i'm not big on network marketing since working with amway for a short time about 15 years back, but my wife and I have been working in an anti-aging network marketing company for the past 3 months and doing pretty well. i really didnt like network marketing companies up until we found this company. Its only been around just over a year and did $100 million the first year on the market. and on top of that, its only been launched in the US so there is huge growth potential as we start to launch into other countries through the end of this year.

The reason I believe in the product so much is the product truly works, and works fast. another great thing about this company they donate 30% of it's profits to cancer research. no other company that i know of does this.

I know a bunch of guys who wrecked it with mlm.

What did they all have in common?

They already had a massive following.

Then they further promote it saying "I made 20k in a week with this system!" which of course is true; however it's difficult to mimic their success unless you also have a massive list & following.

Not saying it's BS or it doesn't work for the little guy, but what I said is true.

Marketing is marketing at the end it all comes down to selling something and how you sell it.

I think when starting out it is difficult to succeed with MLM programs but once you have built a list and they trust you then it is easier to get people to join . You also need a system that is easy for people to duplicate and be successful with otherwise they will just quit!

Also if the product is something that is of value and the person needs then it can offer the opportunity to create a long term residual income.

MLM's in my opinion 95% of the time are ran by highly sophisticated criminals. I'm not going to start naming names, but there's a very big one taking grip online at the moment. They all tend to end up the same way.

The keys to pursuing MLM:

1. Get in early with a a rising star network.
2. Leverage the credibility of a proven 6 or 7 figure earner.
3. Must have a quick simple online recruiting system.
4. You must have a way to generate consistent new leads.
5. Treat it like a stock. Don't get emotionally stuck. Move on when momentum fads.
6. Always connect with your downline/prospects and build your own private list.
7. Gather testimonials from your upline/downline.
8. Brand yourself using any small amount of success.
9. Network with leaders in the industry. Don't try to recruit. Just network.
10. Protect your reputation above all else.

Just some thoughts off the top of my head. And yes I've made lifetime over $600k in MLM. Been profitable in several. So I know a thing or two.

MLM is a great way to generate leveraged income and earn off of the efforts of others. It all comes down to prospecting and how well you're good at generating leads. If you're an expert at lead generation everything else will fall into place. The timing of the company, the products and the compensation plan are important but if you don't know how to generate prospects for your business none of that will matter.

You need to be a leader in what you're doing and you need to commit to it. I never understood the value in an MLM but I can see lots of potential in it now. Not everyone is going to succeed but you need to make people see the value in what you're giving them without it being all about sales.

We have to really be passionate about the market product we're promoting too - those at the top really show their liking for the product - it's about making money yes, but it's also about making money with something that means something to the person - that I believe is the big stand-out factor

Having been in the MLM niche for the past 15 months it saddens me to see how many people here actually waste their time promoting a single product or productline, furthermore, the advice given is of poor quality and there are a lot of half answers.

Since 90% of the failure in this business takes place in the approach and there are only two simple reasons why most people fail in the approach — by either doing it wrong or just not doing it — you must train each associate to become a “Master Inviter”.

You can’t learn how to do this from just reading about it, and you certainly don’t want your new BAs to practice on their prospects and make a bad first impression. The best way is to train your BAs old and new just like the airlines train their pilots.

Creating a Training Simulator
Did you ever wonder how pilots become so good at flying in bad weather? They certainty don’t tell brand new pilots, “Look there is a storm! Take this multi-million dollar airplane up there and fly into it and let’s see how you do.”
The airlines use multi-million dollar simulators that simulate the worst conditions possible, and pilots spend thousands of hours training in them before taking to the air.
Thanks to their extensive training in the simulators, the pilot’s reaction becomes second nature, no matter what situation arises.

You must do the same thing in your business. You should create training sessions with your leaders that “simulate” real approaches. Since most of the things that they need to learn are the scripts they will actually say over the phone (Or Skype or similar technology), then using the phone is the best way to train them.

Just get at least three BAs on the phone and take turns being the leader, the new BA, and the prospect. Take it easy at first, until everyone gets comfortable with the flow.
Then gradually have the BA playing the prospect get tougher and more skeptical and start asking more difficult questions. This way, both the leader and the new BA will learn how to overcome almost every situation.

This type of simulator training will not only give your new and old leaders the knowledge and experience to make quality invitations, but it will also give them the confidence to make even more approaches. Your team will really start growing at a feverish pace.

Enthusiasm is Key
Don’t forget to show genuine enthusiasm and passion when making an approach.

Understanding Human Nature
You must remember that people are sometimes skeptical, curious and seem uninterested. Don’t get discouraged. Just learn how to hit people’s hot buttons and use the “entice and withdraw” method to get them interested in hearing more about your product.

Drill for Skill on the Approach
Take the time to make sure all of your leaders are trained in the approach. Don’t assume they will figure it out. You can’t afford to leave this to chance.

Build a Team of Master Inviters
Remember: The leaders and teams who execute most quality approaches attract the most people to view the presentation, which leads to more recruits, bigger teams, and a bigger customer base, and ultimately leads to more potential income for you and your leaders.

Personally, I hate MLM. I do not consider it as a business because it is a form of scamming people. Most of the people in this kind of business cannot even get started and looses a lot of money. Companies do nothing in such cases except the word of mouth.

It works; network marketing works. If you don't give up it's bound to work. I guarantee you that.

Depends upon the product, the management, the comp plan,
whether or not the product is over-price in the first place,
whether or not things are set up in an over-complicated
fashion, and many other factors.

Many people who get into MLM's give up before the money
has had time to kick in... just as many in internet marketing
do. If you come in with the expectation of over-night
riches in either, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.
It takes time and often a lot of work.

People in both worlds often jump from opportunity to
opportunity, forever looking for something easier and faster.

I've been in an MLM since 2004, and I've been in IM since
1996. I make money with both, and actually use them in
ways that compliment and grow each other.

In both worlds the top few make a LOT more than the
bottom many

I simply hate MLM businesses, these businesses are not for me.
I have lost money in the past, which is why I am not a big fan of MLM.
If you ask me, MLM is indirectly a ponzi scheme. People at the top make money, people at the bottom make nothing.
