I'm not working FT at the moment but when I was it was tough to come home and put in some work. I was working as a web developer which didn't help as after spending 8 hours behind a PC it's hard to come home and spend more time staring at a monitor.

I used to set myself small daily goals like write 200 words or work for 1 hour so not to burn myself out whilst still making progress.

I also have the same problem buzilla. I work as a software developer...I stare at the screen for at least 8 hours and after that, I have to do the same for a few more hours. How did you decide to quit your full-time job? How did you finance yourself without a job?

This documentary I'm Fine, Thanks Movie - A Documentary Film by Crank Tank Studios really made the decision to quit easy. Whilst I enjoy programming working for clients was sucking the life out of me.

I don't have any debts and have some money saved so finances weren't an issue, if an interesting freelance job pops I might take it on just to keep the money coming in. I can now dedicate all my time to building my own online businesses. Being able to spend 40 hours a week on my own projects really speeds things up and the money is starting to come in.

I don't have a full time job, and haven't had for over 7 years now. I don't think that I would be able to adapt to full time working life again, very scary thought! I have started spending a lot more time working recently however, for the past 3 years I've been very lazy with my online business. This is my major weakness with running my own business, I can sometimes majorly lack motivation.

I work full time at my 'day job' and then I typically put in 1-2 hours every evening to make money online. I also work 6-7 hours on one of my days off.

I am lucky though. In my 'day job' I have A LOT of down time so I also put in 4-6 hours per day while at my regular job working on IM stuff.

This is my full time job but I am not making enough yet so money is very, very tight. I need to figure out a way to get health insurance, too. I think I need to work more hours in a day and act like there is a fire underneath my you know what... or else I WILL have to get a full time J.O.B. I suspect that won't be a good move for me because I don't like having a boss.

I am full time Active Duty Military, Currently going to school for my MBA, have two daughters a 1 year old and a 4 year old and my wife works full time.

I put in at least 2-3 hours a day toward my online business.

It can be done. It just takes commitment.

Strangely, enough I do eBay as well. I thought I was the only internet marketer that still sold on eBay. Nice to have some company. I think eBay is a sterling place to "cut your teeth" if you're new to IM. Good place to practice your copywriting, customer service, and spotting buying trends. Best of all... it's wall to wall buyers!!!!!

My last J.O.B. was in 2002 part time and hated it. My manager said I was "un-manageable and work shy" As far as I know she's still there, and good luck to her!

Full time IM since 2007. I think I'm probably unemployable now!

I currently work full time 8-5 Mon-Fri.

I normally rest until 7pm and then work online from 7pm- 9pm.

And on the weekends I probably put in 12-16 hours.

The problem I have is that I actually enjoy the time I spend at my full time job, the banter is plentiful and its more like being at the pub with my mates than being at work.

If I ever start earning enough online to support myself, it would be a hell of a tough choice on whether or not I quit my full time job!

I quit my full time job in 2008 and to travel and live in Thailand while working on my internet businesses. I wrote a long detailed post about how I did it and how I got started but the mods deleted the post for whatever reason.

So basically I read the 4-hour workweek, did it, did some scuba diving, muay thai, and got by while getting my IM stuff to start paying.

I spend around $600 a month here including my crossfit memebership and work online maybe 3 hours a day at a coffee shop. Going to my CrossFit classes is my only real priority and I LOVE my life here. I would NEVER go back to working a real job.

Great story, from experience I can tell you that when you can outsource your job long enough to have 1 week off, start travelling .. I`ve seen some great places around the world that would really make it worth it.

I have a full time job as well but that's what VA's are for to keep the business rocking. Also, I have partnered with a couple of folks on projects so we can split the load.

I'm a big believer in having a job as it adds credibility AND a big perk is I get to use a good sized marketing budget to test traffic channels and continually educate myself in the digital marketing space (and get paid too!?) right on.

Have not worked a full-time J.0.B for several years now, but I was working part-time as an English teacher here in the "3rd world country" I currently reside in until my online earnings were enough to support me (which happened about 2 years ago).

When food and other expenses are low, you really don´t need lots of cash to live on, and can then devote more time to your online business.

Yes I have a full time job. But I work on an oilrig in the north sea 2 weeks on and 4 weeks off. Out on the oilrig I work from 7.00 am to 7.00 pm every day. After work I spend 2-3 hours with my online business. Thats kind of easy as there is no kids screaming and wife yelling.

During my 4 weeks off I get up at 6.00 am and I start working with my online business in the morning, I work 5 hours 5-6 days a week. I also have a maintenance company that I work apr. 15 hours every week when I`m home from the sea.

I have a full time job, I lead an active life, but I also put a lot of time into my part time business.

I struggled at first but I put my business management background into action and found some very easy, but very effective business strategies that worked for me.

I set targets, including a long term goal of becoming a full time IMer, and I do whatever it takes to meet them. People have said it already, focus is key. Utilize what time you have to the fullest.

I am launching a WSO on this exact subject tomorrow, showing how these simple changes completely enriched my business.

If you truly want something you will do whatever it takes. Whatever your motivation for starting out in IM, just keep reminding yourself of that motivation every time you hit a hurdle.

My full time job where I'm on payroll + benefits is anywhere from 30-40 hrs a week. (I work for a clothing company).

I devote 2-4 hours (my own business) on the weekdays and on the weekends I probably spend about 12 hrs (my own business). I try to at least have some time for myself.

I got a full time job sitting in front on a pc all day, and find it really hard to do stuff when I get home for any length of time.

I generally leave stuff till my days off, where I can put most of my energy into what every I need to do rather on days where I leave and don't get back for 11 hours.

I wish I had the stamina of some of you guys.
