Hi All,

Its been along time since I've been here....decided to give learning IM marketing a new kick at the can...start from scratch and learn re-learn the idea of making some extra money online and perhaps one day getting out of my shit job.

Anyway the question I have and I'm sorry if its been asked a thousand times is.....
is there a way to ensure I get paid for a referral from my wordpress site, if the person's service I am promoting has no affiliate program.

For instance if I am providing free ad space for his/her service in my niche on my site....is there any type of payment process that would ensure I get a cut of any service referrals I send his/her way?

Thanks for any help

Not sure if there is a specific application that can do this, but then you'd be creeping into affiliate program territory. I'd imagine in this case a deal could be struck up where they pay you a flat rate for hiring the space per month or whatever, the agreement would be more or less between yourself, unless you went down some sort of legal agreement route if both parties agreed. If you tried to agree it on a per sale basis without any form of tracking or affiliate program then it would be quite difficult to determine what sales were referred by your site.

    Hey Bucky,

It depends on what you are getting paid for. If you are sending links, then yes, there's a lot of link tracking solutions out there that can count the links you give to this person. If it's sales, then no, they HAVE to put something into place that traces back to you, otherwise you just have to take that other party for their word.

Short story - if you are dealing with someone that has no affiliate program or help in place for you, I'd be dubious about doing business with them.

        Hey Bucky769

There might be a plugin out their somewhere for Wordpress but i don't know of any that do what you want. But as far as gathering data, you can collect the data and provide that to the person placing the ad on your website. You might want to talk to the person first and work something out before placing the ad on your website. Maybe they can pay per lead after you have collected the data. Then just contact them after you have the information.

        Hope that helps you

    Bucky...

In today's online marketing world, there's really no reason why someone shouldn't have an affiliate program setup if they are paying you for referrals.

    ClickBank
    Commission Junction
    Share A Sale
    etc.

These are all companies that offer easy affiliate program setups.

I'd be very reluctant dealing with anyone these days that plans to pay me for my referrals...but we don't have an agreement in place...or are working with an affiliate program structure.

    I hope that makes sense...
(...if you need any further advice, give me a shout.)
