How many websites can you control? Without losing it!

Hi there,

I am planning my IM strategy at the moment.

I intend to have a one core website that will be the main point of business and offer a range of products.

I also intend to set up 1 smaller satellite website that will focus on 1 product.

I also intend to set up a number of separarate "namesqueeze pages" which will essentially be desinged to get people to sign up to an opt in list.

My question is am I taking on too much?

Should I foucs on only one website.

How many websites do fellow warriors control?

The only reason I am want to do these extra sites is to try and capture as much attention as possible if that makes sense.

Appreciate any comments

  • You will get comments from people on both sides of this one. You can do very well with either approach but it just depends on your objectives. From what you have shared about what you want to do, I'd suggest sticking with the core site and dedicating your time to growing it and your brand until it has authority status and a favorable position in the marketplace. Once you have that, it will be much easier to spin off into other projects.

I have over 300 sites. Since my background is in software project management this wasn't all that difficult for me but others may struggle to work with even a few projects.

What it really breaks down to though is your objectives and your ability to manage multiple projects.

You outlined your approach very well. As long as all of your other sites dove tail into your main money-making site you can have as many direct navigation or supporting sites as you want. I work in seven different niches following your basic outline. I have one main site in each niche with several (sometimes dozens) of supporting sites points back to my main site. The best way to look at it is how much time do you have to focus on your money making site. You'll so find that your supporting sites are very valuable in driving traffic, opt'in's etc.

    Thanks,
    Andy
