Using IM to fund an Offline Business

Hello everybody. I was wondering if there is anyone here who has used their IM profits to fund an offline business? Perhaps something small like a restaurant or hole-in-the-wall shop?

I'd really like to open up my own chain of restaurants, gyms, aquarium, you name it. Obviously this can't be all funded by IM, but if it works like a chain reaction, I think it could pan out. You gotta start small...

tl;dr: Does anyone use their IM profits to invest? Or is it purely cost of livings and shiny things?

Edit: I'm not looking for an investor. I was just wondering if its been done

  • Personally I would rather invest my IM profits into more IM ventures. Most restaurants are struggling to survive nowadays. Who wants to put in all that work and risk for such little return? Online has way bigger opportunities than offline businesses.

    • True, but I suppose thats a bit dependent on the area.
Think of it as validation of success to show your family. Sadly, There isn't much for the family to be proud of with IM.

The "offliners" just don't understand lol

  • I've done it. Funded a farm project. Not a good idea. The farm, that is. Maybe I should have just used the money to put up a pizza shop.
  • I was wondering the same thing the other day.

Once you have a full time income from internet marketing and you manage to save a large portion of it; you can invest in literally anything. I don't make a full time income from internet marketing yet but once I got the cash coming in I also want to set up some other type of small business.

    Get the cash first!

    • Interesting. I live in the area that produces something like 8% of the world's total agriculture. I've considered maybe a wine vineyard

Thats very true, but there's nothing like a rough draft business plan for the long term! haha
  • I've used my IM profit to open a hotel in one of the most tourist visit in my home country. I can say that I get stable profit from it than IM.

Until now, my hotel properties would be able to be sold for $600K while I was invested for about $100K not including the stable profit from it for years.

I could say that IM helps me a lot in my offline business. While other competitors doesn't care much about IM for their business, I leverage it's potential into big income for my offline business.
  • It is definitely worth it if that is what you want. Investing in an offline business can be quite cool knowing that you found the money from the Internet and just from IM. If you feel that this is what you want to do, then go for it.

Everybody is entitled to their opinions, so be entitled to yours.
