The most satisfying $17 I ever made...

I remember when I first started out in the IM Biz.

I didn't have a track record.

No social proof.

No idea what I was really doing.

And yet...

I managed to write an ebook and market it on a shoestring budget - just by offering people value in articles I wrote for my website.

Those articles ended up driving tons of traffic and it wasn't long before I made my first sale.

It was the most orgasmic $17 I ever made. Ever.

And it's a feeling that every marketer here should taste.

Make sure when you're pursuing the IM Biz that you're advertising products or services that really matter to you. When you do, the profits you make will taste that much better.

And...

Every sale will build your passion to play a bigger game.

That is totally true! My first sale was for a Disney World guide on CB. It is the only one on CB, and it changed my entire perception on IM. It took several months to get that, but I still remember seeing that $13.24 sale when I got the sale.

It was sort of like a miracle because I had already given up at that point. I love Disney World, and it is true that it is best to be selling products and promoting things that matter most to you,

Congrats on that first sale from the past.

Cheers to the first dollar we all made online!

My first sale was selling the infamous Rocket Language products on eBay. Classified ads had just been launched as an option on eBay and so I took advantage of it. Several hundred dollars the first week and then eBay caught on. $0 the next week. That's when I learnt that chasing tricks and gimmicks is not a good use of time and not a way to build a long-term business.

  • My most satisfying sale was 99 cents many years ago. I had written a motivational song and produced and recorded it with an artist. It was purchased by many people, however one particular fan stood out as she wrote to let me know that the song she purchased carried her through many depressing days and very difficult times, and that it was because of this song, it made her hang in there. This turned that 99 cent sale into a priceless amount of value for me.

My first very satisfy in IM was when a guy cheated me for $355. Fortunately, I turned his idea into a legit way and earned back $2,000.

I just wanna tell you that most of the links in the signature are trash and/or a trap to make you pay!

I remember my first ever affiliate sale was on photography niche and the ebook had a great sales pitch with awesome photos.
With a free facebook ad credit of $50, I put it up some ad on Facebook and make a sale within a week ($19.99). I subsequently made more sales and I remember that it had a high click to conversion rate.

I was kind of shock when I got an email from e-junkie regarding the first Sale.

I never ventured into clickbank though..

imagine if you had a list to send that same ebook, imagine a list of 3000 or 10,000 people.

you had people come and then leave without capturing their email. Mate they are gone forever!!! ouch!

Say if you captured their names and emails, and just 0.5% of them took you up and bought the ebook.

That is 50 sales at $17.... Total profit = $850

So you need to think about listbuilding now you have got your feet wet.

Also to the person that bought, are you following him up and selling him more stuff.

  • Congratulations, Mark!

I think we all remember that "orgasmic" moment when we received our first sale from IM.

Your enthusiasm and love for what you are doing is very apparent. That was the best part of this post you made: that sheer exuberance and excitement for following the rules, providing value and collecting the cash. Good Job, Mark!

The first sale is the most important because most of us are skeptical about making money off IM. I certainly was - I didn't realize the potential of the Internet and all the traffic I could harness.

My first sale was a "productnamereview.org" - typical sniper EMD site. It made 2 sales on launch week. That was THE light bulb moment in my life because I proved to myself that I can sell and make money. After that it was all about dreaming bigger and scaling up....

I think mine was when an Adsense check appeared in the post. I had made a few sales in the past before then but the Adsense check arrived and becuase it was an "actual" piece of matter it was like - wow! I just got sent this. Now they go straight into my bank its not as much fun! (still nice though) But I love waking up to emails on my phone saying "xxxx just sent you $xx" - nice start to the day.

Congratulations on your sale and yes, the first sale truly is amazing.

For me, it happened in 2009. I was working on my first ever english site (it was a blogspot) and just gave up after one month because I got no sales...

Then 3 months later, I log into my hotmail account one morning and there it was, an email saying I made $150+ sale. I was jumping like crazy, it felt like I just scored a winning goal in the champion's league, truly amazing feeling!

Anyways, that first sale made me keep pushing and it's the reason I'm still pushing despite all the pandas and penguines and whatnot : )

Unfortunately I have yet to make my first sale. The plan is to build up a website with a squeeze page at the beginning of next month. I can't wait for my orgasmic sale!

I see that you have joined the forum just over 3 years ago, and your profile mentions that you have been trying to make a full-time income from internet marketing for more than 4 years now, and that you have been offering a writing service for about the same amount of time (of which your signature link leads to a page where you gave away tons of free review copies, but not one sale?) If this is the case, then yes, it's time for an orgasmic sale. I would also say it's time to seriously consider adjusting your game plan in order to make that happen.

    Keep in mind...

The $17 I'm talking about was made back in '06.

And it was that experience; that moment that catapulted me into the direction I'm still pursuing right now.

The products you pimp out (whether they're your own... or from the affiliate model) make a HUGE difference in how making money, feels.

There are infinite ways to bring in the bacon.

So why not pursue the possibilities that make you feel good... because you can?

    Likewise...

If you're selling stuff you don't believe in, you're inhibiting the kind of prosperity that you REALLY want from reaching you.

    Step back.

Allow yourself to become aware of what you're truly passionate about.

And create (or find) a product that reflects that passion.

You've got to commit your valuable energy to help people in a way that fills you up - not depletes you.

I guess I’m the only one who didn't become so glad after making my first sale (in 2007) because it delayed around six months, and because the next sale happened only three months later.

It’s very hard to regularly sell your products. I feel better after seeing that the initial difficulty didn't last forever.

Still remember that feeling with my first ever sales too. I had made a blogger site, which was my sales page, and written a few articles and answered a few questions on Yahoo Answers, then I had to go on holiday to Cyprus.

When on holiday, I was showing my little cousin what it was I was doing in an internet cafe and when I logged in to Clickbank I noticed that over the last 4 days I had 2 $86 sales! That was the moment that I knew this was the life for me.
