making sales with list question

this question has been in my mind.

finally, i have created the product.
i have the list that i've built.
then i email the list about my product.

so i get some sales.
and this is where i got stuck.

what should i do next?
keep sending the same product sales pitch in different wording to the same list? weekly? monthly? if every blast weekly/monthly is selling the same thing sounds like a spam.

or create new product weekly? monthly? and send to the same list?

the list subscribers having receiving the same product but different wording sales pitch weekly/monthly will eventually unsubscribe.

i have the list, but how should it work to keep on getting sales?

    Hi There Pelican,

Look there are a large number of warriors that ask this exact question. But the truth is, its not an exact science. Of course you can come up with a plan such as 1 email every day or 1 email every 2 days etc. but what YOU need to remember is that its not just a list of email addresses. They are Real people just like you, who are looking for genuine help. So every time you send an email. put yourself in their shoes and decide if you are offering value in that email. Whether you are promoting a product of your own, an affiliate product or simply an informative email, make sure you are offering Value.

Here is a good tip. Look around here for some good marketers offering free products as WSO's then sign up to their list. Over the next few days see how they market themselves to you. See the value they add. Notice the relevance in each email. I am subscribed to lee Murrays list as well as Paul Nicholls list. Both are not massive names yet but both are successful and they both have contrasting styles when it comes to how they market to their list.

Another tip: Get a blog!! Why? Because you can build trust and credibility that way. So as an example you could send one informative email about your niche (ie:list building) , the next day an email where you promote a product that is related to your previous email mesage, then on day 3 you could send them an email that directs them to your blog where you have written a great, lengthy blog post about something related that blows their mind! They will think: wow, such good information for free! Then whenever you recommend a product they will trust you to buy.

Another tip: keep things personal and story telling always does well.

    Example: Hey Jon,

I just got back from the gym and man am I finished! My instructor worked me over pretty good. (I think he has a personal vendetta against me!)

Anyways my body is screaming, so I thought I'd share with you my experience with you on a great converting squeeze page to get my mind off the pain!

Then you go ahead an write a great email that actually gives some good tips! Then at the bottom you can say something like:

My buddy (insert product owner name) has a great product that gives you the start to absolute finish on a super high converting squeeze page. Let me know what you think of it!

NOw thats an example of an email selling an affilite product. You could adapt this to your own if you wish.

In conclusion. Get on some of the best marketers lists and mimic them! And lastly whether you send an email everyday or once every 3 days, just add value! You will then have a happy audience. Just mix up the offers to every 2 or 3 days. Thats by no means a difinitive answer but it atleast gives you a starting point

    hope this helps

You can market the same product over and over again BUT you can not send out multiple sales pitches as such to your list. You have to send out great content every time, preferably added with a personal touch to build relationship with your list and keep it responsive. Just mention in passing towards the end that if they want more of this they can find it in your product.

Also you should take out who has already bought your product from your prospects list and put them into a buyers list and then market different products to them (maybe affiliate).

Richard basically summed it up really well.

You always need to give value in every email wether you are trying to sell something or not, your list will really appreciate it and will be more likely to buy off you in the future.

I'd also agree with having a blog - if you are really short of things to send to your list you could always give them a taster of your latest blog post and pop the link in.

Have you tried doing some affiliate marketing along side your own product? If you find a great product that you really believe in you can do well.

Send me this crappy pitch wrapped up in a terribly told story that has no relation to the product you're selling and I'll hit the unsubscribe button and delete your email.

        Someone needs to calm down.

Your post was good but your example story was terrible. I would actually unsubscribe and delete your email if you sent such a poor excuse for a story that was actually nothing more than a way to promote an unrelated product.

Yeah that's exactly how 'successful marketers' are doing it.

listen man, i understand you have a view point, but lets be honest. someone asked for help and i helped him. maybe you don't like the example. that's fine. but your 1st post added NO value whatsoever. you basically ridiculed me on the example( which is your opinion- that example is similar to what successful marketers are doing now. i happen to) be on their lists.). you may subscribe and delete the email but the other hundreds of marketers may not. in fact they may love it. but the example is neither here nor there. my point is don't come here and tear down the one, tiny part of the post that you don't agree with when the other 95% of it is pure, helpful information. but in the end i did over react so i apologise for that. just got me fuming when you trash talked one small aspect of an otherwise very helpful, solid post. you could have said Im the first place that you thought it was a good post but the example sucked.

I don't care if 'successful' marketers are doing that or not, I was telling you that if you sent that to me I would unsubscribe and delete your email because it's such a blatant promo wrapped up in a thinly veiled (and totally unrelated) story.

This is my opinion and I am entitled to it.

            End of.

I have to agree with Richy, here. He gives dome good advice, in my pinion.

Whether or not storytelling is your style or not, you still have to keep in mind that what you have is not a collection of email addresses. It is a list of people who, for one reason or another, think that what you have to tell them is of value.

However you go about your email marketing, this is the one thing you can't lose sight of. They are people. Who want to either accomplish something or avoid something.

They are not simply row of ducks you blindly shoot at, hoping to get a hit.

Pelican try promoting different products every day, 2 or 3. If you niche doesn't have many affiliate products to promote, try a different niche that has many affiliate products coming out all the time.

So it means you can't offer them the same old stuff every time. you always need to be updated by creating new products.
