Here's a fun question I'd like to get some feedback on. If you had $1000 to market your online business, where would you use it? Would you do PPC, SEO, Solo, Facebook, e-zines? Would you buy a prospect list? Would you take out an ad in the offline world?

Go!

I spent $900 bucks on that, probably buy some crab juice as well, and cavier and go eat it while I am betting on horses or something. LOL.

After I have blown that money, I would not go back to the tiddy bar, i would get hosting, set up squeeze page, and then start to build a list with traffic free maybe, then offer my list stuff, with the money i made start investing into paid traffic.....

Then once I start making better money i go back to the tiddy bar and buy it up. Become manager, and start running the show just the way I like it.

The I can come back and sell a WSO "Broke dude with $100 now makes $10,000 per week, owns a tiddy bar and lives like a king!"

it would be hella good, and you know you would buy it, cause I would use that NLP chit in my sales copy. You wont be able to resist, plus I will use a big pair of boobs in my headlines too, that will increase my sales and profits. It will be so much fun!

When do you want me to start?:p

I would spend most of it on training on these subjects, if you know what you are doing you won't have much trouble making more out of a small investment (then scale it up). However if you have no idea of the advertising method you are using, you can easily lose a lot of money on these things because you are doing it wrong. But that's just my 2 cents.

I would outsource all the tedious tasks to the specialists, taking the big headache out of my hands and then I would focus on more ideas to get better results and then scale up up and away in my business

Same here, outsource all the marketing to the expert which can be found here. Let them do what they love. My part do what I do.

I'd probably spend $500 on facebook ads and the other half on twitter ads. Social media is the best when it comes to paid traffic.

@iPresenceBizSolutions I actually think that's a really cool idea. It's different, but in the world of marketing reputation is just so important.

@garydrumm - I don't see where you put what kind of business you are running. If you are doing this for an offline business, is it local? If it's a local business you'd do pretty good with direct response marketing with SEO and PPC. Both targeting the local area of course.

If you are in an online business, I really like iPresenceBizSolutions idea. Depending on the niche you are in, you can start building your reputation on the forums. That doesn't' cost really anything other than time.

Solo ads are one of my favorite traffic methods. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years on PPC and SEO and nothing has been as effective for me as doing solo ads. It took me only 3 years to figure that out. Building your list should be a no brainier.

So... that's my .02 cents. If you put down what kind of business you are in maybe we can help drill down.

I'd set up a presell video page using a Ryan Deiss style video followed by a long form sales letter walking the traffic through the following steps:

      1. Convince the viewer that s/he has a problem.
      2. Educate the reader on the general solution
      3. Position my product/service as the logical specific solution provider.
      4. Convince the reader on my price/value proposition
      5. Call them to action (click over to the sales page).

I'd then spend 200$ zero-ing in on the "right" targeting demographics using ClickCertain and cookie-ing my traffic to track their interaction with the presell page and sales page followed by their browsing history for a week.

I'd spend the remaining $800 on traffic targeting IP addresses who match the demographics and web browsing habits of my BUYERS and reap the profits.

      I don't spend a buck unless I know $4 are coming back in revenue....minimum.

I would spend it on solo ads to an email squeeze page. You can't get more targeted advertising, plus you know you're building a list of people that actually open emails and click links, since they opened your solo ad.

Outsourcing as much as possible to grow and free up more time for myself.

I would also look into outsourcing getting more traffic.

I would build a team offline too to help with sales and marketing

Are you asking about starting from scratch, or how to market it after it's already set up?

And what type of business model are we talking about? SEO organic traffic or something else?

In my business, any paid marketing would consist mainly of SEO work, ie link building.
