How come my business partner can't view Craig's List from the Philippines?

Everytime she types up craigslist.org she is not able to open the website. The error messages sais as follows:

"You are not authorized to view this page. You might not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied"

"If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please try to contact the Web site by using any e-mail address or phone number that may be listed on the peoria.craigslist.org home page.

You can click Search to look for information on the Internet.

    2 possible reasons:

    1. Her ip or the ip address range she is on is banned from craigslist
    2. She is behind a proxy/firewall and is being censored/blocked from the site

    If either one is the case just have her view it with one of those "myspace proxies" and it should work fine.

      How should she view the website with a "myspace proxies"?

        the myspace proxies are basically just web based proxies that allow you to get around ip bans and firewall blocks. Kids use them because most schools block myspace, just search on google for "myspace proxy" and then you'll find one like this:

        Myspace Proxy 1 - Myspace Proxy Site

        You just enter the URL you want to visit and then hit "browse/ok/surf" or something like that and the page will load.

      Thanks Ross....hey by the way....I was in your country about a month ago. Beautiful country for sure. Was thinking about looking you up while there but had many time demands there and was thinking on my next trip back to look you up.

      Went to the Mall of Asia there in Manila and then flew down to Davao City and toured Eden Park, Crocodile Park, Paradise Island. Had some local fish and fruit there as well. Man...that Durian sure smells bad and lived up to the reputation of "smells like hell but tastes like heaven".

      Can't wait to go back as I respect your country alot.

      P.S. Do you know of any full time web designers over there? PM me some details and contact imformation if you do.

        Hi Chris,

        That was a great trip. Yeah..that was the reputation of durian

        Anyway, I'm now training some designers to become web designers and if I feel they are capable of doing the job well done then I will recommend one for you. If you are in a hurry then I will email some of my friends to get you one.
