What do you do when you are frustrate?

When I become frustrate... I start making my unfinished tasks to make myself busy.

What do you do?

And then I somehow end up feeling much better!

When you need to blow off steam, there's a few things you can do to get yourself in the right mindset. A lot of good tips, by the way, are in the mindset forum here at WF. But, I'd suggest taking a break, going for a walk, getting fresh air or even doing some yoga breathing exercises. Also, heading to the gym for a workout is a great idea too.

  • Workout :-)

Either fitness or running does the trick for me.

Yes, weight training or boxing is actually the best for me. Boxing mostly because of the intensity :p I will tell you have no energy left after 1½ hours of boxing and if you were mad before or frustrated you aren't anymore. You're just exhausted

Eat food then sleep. Then wake up and burn it all off with a workout. Gets my mind going with fresh ideas, and gets me energized about getting back to business.

I never really get frustrated, cause I understand that life is a learning process, and if something doesn't go your way it's an opportunity to learn and grow, plus with the right attitude and mindset you'll be able to turn any situation no matter how bad into something that will work towards your advantage.

Getting frustrated has no useful function

Oh come on... Even Jesus got frustrated when he entered the temple and saw that marketers were selling push button software in the temple. First he kicked some ass, and then overturned the tables, threw some chairs, and then took their laptops away.

(I'm paraphrasing the story here, forgive me if I don't recall it correctly).

But my point is, everyone gets frustrated.

I do something to change my state of mind- take a walk, yoga, swim or even turn on tv for something mindless and then take a nap. It is best to get away from computer and not just continue in the mode of passivity by being online. Sometimes I will set my phone for 20 minutes for a nap and it really can be rejuvenating. Also, I find just taking information in all the time is tiring and that if I switch to creating something- even if it's writing just 500 words or creating an image, it is energizing.

I either clean something, exercise, watch Youtube videos, or just go for a ride somewhere.

I've learned (the hard way) that if you reach the point of pulling your hair out, the only smart thing to do is walk away for a bit and come back with a fresh mind. Works all the time.

In fact, I was frustrated earlier this morning, so I went out and ran some errands, cleaned my fish tank, and watched some episodes of Dexter. Now I feel a lot less stressed and more focused. Maybe Dexter is rubbing off on me...

When I am frustrated, I will simply just walk away from my computer to cool down my mind before I will come back to tackle the problem again. The period of cooling them helps to relax my mind and I might even come out with solution.

When you get into a bad place mentally, the best thing to do is to work your way out of it. When you have accomplished the tasks you've been dreading, you'll feel better and have accomplished something as well.

haha. what a nice and rare question.
If I get frustrated, I usually relax myself. I go to sleep. Eat and eat. I know myself. Then after that activities I am okay again. Back to normal.

For me, the only thing that works is to put things in perspective. I think about my family and friends and am thankful for the good people I have in my life. I try to remind myself that in life... relationships are more important than any of my "projects." As time passes, I realize the projects will always be there... but some of the people I care about won't.

I don't say that to be negative - just to keep a good perspective.

To battle frustration, I take a walk and if it's a really frustrating situation, I plan something to do with my 4 year old daughter -- that always lowers the blood pressure and re-orients me to what is important.

I take a break. That simple.

Just stand up from your chair and walk outside. If you have a dog, take him for a walk into the forest. Clear your mind of all business related issues and just enjoy being outside. Breath deeply. Enjoy the scenery. Meditating and exercising works as well.

When you get back to your chair it will be much easier for you to focus on your work.

I personally just stop working and hit the gym. I used to play video games but that just turns into a huge distraction and is not worth it.

I always step away from whatever I'm doing and take my dog to the dog park...Then, I'll watch all the dogs play and just get lost in watching them all run around. Then I will always realize that it's these simple fun moments that are so worth the frustrating moments at the computer.
