1. Sleep is an inadequate substitute for caffeine, and/or

Also as deranged as the British mice, but that's another story. They'd most likely get lost long before they discovered anything profound. Even if they happened to stumble across the cheese, they'd probably do something distasteful and wholly inappropriate with it. Like, say, juggling.

Use only genuine, certified pan-dimensional mice, for all your philosophical pondering needs!
