Hi,

Could you please advise a not very technical person on what to start reading, to understand the basics of SEO. So far I have written a lot of articles for various sites, now I am trying to make money out of my blog and a website selling baby clothes, but I must confess I am not having much succes and I would be interested in reading some info in simple terms, not very complicated, technical stuff.

Absolutely.This is what I started with, and from there, I looked up every information I needed to on the WF to get a more in-depth information.

Seriously all I talk about IS Internet marketing. I need to get a life and start talking about other stuff haha.

But I love it. It's still untapped. I mean, talk about what you learned from the WF to your college mates or even friends, and they have NO idea what you're talking about.

They probably think "Oh Facebook promotion." and that's it.

My aunt thinks I make minimum wage when I tell her that I have an internet marketing job. *sigh*.

Hi GGpaul,

Every time I come across this thread I recall the fact you have two jobs: your regular at work job and your internet marketing work.

I can't help but respect the effort you put in to your regular job and then have the drive of passion to make your IM business successful as well.

There is a huge example here for me over your work ethic and second job at home. I believe I understand how you do it now. Congratulations!

Thank you! My boss inspired me. He's the director of SEO and on his side he still does his own business. In 4 months he pulled in 171 k with his side business. And that's just one stream of income. I believe he has 5 different streams of income

.

He has a family, 4-5 businesses and his job. So that alone told me that I have no excuses.

I totally agree with this! It's funny you mentioned this because I just had a conversation with someone about the fact that a person can get a college education strictly from watching videos on Youtube.

Now of course you will not get credits etc, but the knowledge a person can gain from a forum and or Youtube is insane!

Warrior forum has really helped me too. Yes it's true that there are many people who here who will lend a hand to help you in internet marketing. Majority of helping hands are here.

Keep up the good work and take encouragement from the fact that you are actually able to do the difficult things you are doing just now. But it won't always be this way.

That's great news. Congratulations. And, it's wise to invest back into your business...I wish I could do the same. I am more of a spender LOL! I need to change my mindset rapidly! :confused:

College is (for most of it) all about theory. I did study to become a lawyer and when I eventually got my first job, I realized that what I had learnt at College wasn't going to be much use. I couldn't have learnt much about IM at University either...IM is very specific and can't be taught like a normal course. It's more like an ongoing training course with lots of different people sharing their knowledge, experience, successes and failures. That's why it works.

If I can give one tip in regards to the Warriorforum, it's basically gain some relationships with people here. There are some wonderful warriors that are willing to help a hand or two or three or even more. At the same time, be careful, there are a lot that just want to make money from you!

Agreed. Another tip is to be pro-active and not expect someone ( a successful warrior for instance) to take you by the hand. You have to learn and apply first. Ask when unsure but do 80% of the job yourself. I have seen lots of people here asking for help with a bit H but lacking interest etc. IM is not for the faint hearted and you need to work hard.

Great to hear about your success paul. Warrior forum is wonderful. I made my first money after learning about this. Can you believe that I didn't know that I can get upfronts for my services? That way, I didn't have to get cheated by lying idiots.
