Easier or harder to do IM in other languages?

Being bilingual, I would have the opportunity to do IM in both French and English, but I haven't touched the French market yet. The problem is the French market seems so limited, there is no Ezinearticles, there is no Clickbank and I could go on.

So do you think it is easier or harder to market in other languages? There are less resources available, but the competition should be smaller too. So what are your thought on IM in other languages.

    If you're referring to the internet marketing niche, then, yes, it's a lot harder.

    However, if you're referring to internet marketing in general, then, of course, there's a market.

      Obviously there are Internet marketing opportunities in other languages and languages like French and Spanish have worldwide audiences.

      I work a bit in Afrikaans, a small language with only about 5million people using it as a first language, most of those use English on the net.

      there is no Ezinearticles, there is no Clickbank and I could go on.
      This creates a lot of opportunities.

      The biggest issue I found, even using English in a South African environment, is cultural.
      - Using American style marketing copy ("American Rah Rah") can backfire on you so you may need to adapt what you learnt in the books
      - Send out one email every two weeks to your list and you are "spamming"
      - Payment by credit card is very limited

      So you wil have to find out what works in your target market

    These aren't problems. These are gaping holes in the market or "opportunities" as I like to call them

      True, not having a Clickbank or Ezinearticles certainly means some big opportunities, like developing it yourself or have someone do it for you, but that would be quite a project. It also let's you dominate some niches where there is little competition, although the money would probably be less, since there are less people.

      If only I could speak Chinese...

        In all seriousness I'd definitely test the waters. Make up a few ebooks and set them up with the 7 dollar secrets system. I'm willing to bet there are plenty of weight loss type forums/info sites in French who'd promote it.

          Hum.

          I'm from Spain and every now and then launch a product for the Spanish Market. if found it difficult for "internet marketing niche", but had some success in other niches...

          I do it mostly for fun and because I'm kind of a freak... I mean, I like to test US internet marketing style in latin speaking countries... With variable results.

          Guess it's all about finding a good niche.

    There is a famous/old saying in Spain.

    It states something like: "Europe is about two years behind the US in Internet and technology awareness".

    So. It makes me think that if this is half true... we are about to hit the big bang on internet marketing here.

      I can't remember where I read about this, so if it was a Warrior, I apologise in advance for not crediting you here.

      It's about how English speakers can make money from their existing products in other languages.

      Suppose you have a killer ebook - it's in English and that's the only language you know, so you haven't a snowball's chance in hell of selling it in other languages.

      So, what you do is sell resale rights to someone who speaks another language. Charge them a few thousand and that gives them the sole right to:

      - translate the product (and your sales site etc) into their language
      - sell it in that language

      They keep all the profits.

      Rinse and repeat for other languages.

      These are incremental sales for you because you would never have sold the product in those other languages.

        Hum.

        Just found out what i've done a few times before.

        And belive me. IT IS profitable.

        1. Get PLR to a product
        2. Translate it
        3. Give it a tweak
        4. Sell it.

        Am I talking too much?
