Overwhelm - where to start

Fellow Warriors,

I've been in the internet marketing niche for 4 years now, with varying success. Suffice it so say that I don't have anywhere near a full passive income by now.

Having been disappointed by failing websites for dozens of times I just want to start over again, but I don't know with what.

The model of "create content site, build mailing list, sell (own) product" still seems to work, but I already get stuck at the first phase: how to pick a market. Nearly everything I see I think "overcrowded", "dont care", "not my strong suit" etc.

It's getting overwhelming and depressing. Can anyone help me out?

Cheers,
Stealth

You need to find a coach that has been there/done that. There is nothing more valuable than someone that has done it, and thinks it is easy.

Don't worry about saturation! Of you're interested in something and have a passion for it you'll be far above the competition. And you can always focus on sub niches within to narrow the competition / targeting.

Good thing. I had an expert IMer as my mentor. I've just sent him an email asking if he can coach me again. He has a lot of experience in that.

Alright, but the things I am interested don't make money: videogames. I've tried setting up a site about a big video game. Got 5k visitors/month but couldn't monetize with Adsense/CPA/products.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys, appreciate it!

That's actually the biggest challenge - getting the right niche. I had to search and search for it before getting it. One thing I'll tell you, outsource all other services except this. Search well, and you'll get it.

work on something that interest you. it doesn't feel like you're giving effort and pressure working because you love what you're doing.

Take a look at where you spend money. I spend a lot of money on books, so I got into Kindle and Amazon, and now I'm raking it in. Before that, I tried affiliate marketing, becoming a Clickbank vendor, YouTube, etc. The thing is, I had never bought a Clickbank product in my life and I had never clicked a YouTube ad in my life. So I had no idea what made people do those things.

With books, I know exactly why I buy books, what I look for in a book, what turns me off buying a book, etc. That information is invaluable when it comes to selling a product.

So, I would say find what YOU already spend money on now, and look at what prompted you to spend money on it. Then turn around and do the same thing those people did to get you to part with your cash.

If you already have a site with 5k of traffic, why not ask some help monetizing it instead of asking for help how to start over? Seems to me you are already well on your way, and monetizing might be the next step you need to learn about.

I had a site with that much traffic. It was about the game Skyrim. Over the months it dropped significantly in traffic. Nowadays it only gets 900 visitors per month. That's still nice with no backlinks built and no SEO done, but monetizing is still hard.

I feel the exact same way. I have tried quite a few different techniques to make money online and none of them worked out - at least none of my websites. But I have been soaking up information from this forum for almost a year now so I am quite confident my next website will be a hit. Don't give up yet. Find something to bring in some quick cash to support yourself and then brainstorm internet marketing ideas.

Whenever I think of a new idea I write it down in the note app on my phone. I have quite a few ideas already, some not as good as others. Unfortunately, I don't have time to work on any of them yet but I will soon. Once you start thinking about ways to make money online new ideas keep popping into your head and if you expand on those ideas you could make a lot of money. The key is consistency. Find a niche you are genuinely interested in and the writing will be a breeze. It is really not that difficult to find a niche. The difficult part is sticking to your niche even if you don't see any immediate results.

    Just hang in there bud!

If you have the cash get a mentor or use this forum to get the information you need.

    Good luck!

This is a very common question.

I answered it in this thread....http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...uggestion.html

It went off the rails a bit but the overall message is there.

    Stealth,

Go read this report - it's free - Niche Intelligence Report. It was written by Eben Pagan who has sold millions of dollars worth of information products. He lists his top 29 "evergreen" sub-niches for online products and he explains why these niches continue to be money makers into the future.

    Good luck to you,

Hey stealth, are you young? i ask because you have 17 attached to your user name & ur into gaming. Go with what you know kid.... Ppl fail to understand that. Unless you've got cake stacked up somewhere to hire ppl who really know the NEW market aka niche Ur tryin to chase.... don't start over. Instead, create a new video landing page for you 900/mt visitor site, adding a recorded gaming video of a great skyrim battle, and narrate...

Tell you visitor to sign up to your list for Free xyz info (but , be sure to give a free tip or cheat in the video you use for the NEW landing page.... ) Then pump out tips, cheats, and new BIG game info (affiliate products) to your list. Don't complicate this thing....

If you are as young as your market, you have the upper hand here and don't even realize it. Marketing is simply communicating value to your audience.... Communication being KEY. You know how these gamers talk and react... Use that, and best of luck.

No I'm not that young. I'm 25 so I've been into this since I was 21.
      Thank you for your response.

I know what that feels like....

The only thing that helped me is to try and find the passion within yourself.. Do the thing that you love and stick to it. Science has proved that if you give a thousand days for your business. It will definitely pay you off..

Try it or not .. Its up to you.. Good Luck
