Is it Safe to Use Paypal on Flippa?

Anybody with experience in receiving payment for a site with Paypal? Is it safe and reliable or is there a risk of chargebacks? Basically, I want to sell a site and receive payment via paypal, credit card, escrow etc.

If it is a new site with a low selling point you should be fine with PayPal. On the other hand if your site is making a profit it's best to be covered by escrow! Good luck with your sale

Can somebody explain how escrow on flippa works? I'd be interested to know because I'm also interested in selling a domain, and don't want to get screwed over :/

There's always a risk of a disputed sale or chargeback with Paypal. I've sold a lot of sites on Flippa and used Paypal without a problem, but I communicate with the buyer first and check out their history/feedback/how long they've been registered, etc. Escrow is always the safest way to go.

You open an escrow transaction and the buyer places the money into escrow and you transfer the site and domain and when the buyer says he has it, escrow releases the money to you.

Go with Escrow, because PayPal does have a risk when it comes to charge backs.

We've used PayPal for quite a few transactions on Flippa (and through private sales) and have never had a problem. Yes, we've heard the horror stories...but have never had any of those issues ourselves.

For a one-off transaction that represented a fair amount of cash to me, I'd prefer to use Escrow.com or (as a seller) only accept wire transfers.

I suggest you use a payment processor when using paypal to save you the trouble and if someone chargebacks at you. You will be defended.Suggested is Google CheckOut.

Anyways if you insist on using paypal on flippa i suggest you have a terms of service agreement sent to the buyer and to the buyers email so you will have a shield whenever he chargebacks as it can help you in winning the chargeback battle in paypal.

Lastly if the amount is high more 250+ suggest using Western Union or Monegram or if you can Wire transfer just to be on the safe side.

There is no problem with using Paypal on Flippa. Paypal is a very well known and reputable payment processor.
