Should I Promote Affilliate Programs with an Opt-In

Hi Warriors,
I just want to ask, Will I still be credited if an affiliate program has an Opt-in? If the customer decides to get the free course through the Opt-in via my affiliate link and later on after receiving the emails from the vendor bought the product, will I still get credited?

I am promoting a product for years and been getting good sales before that I decided to make a whole website promoting it then suddenly I found out the vendor added an Opt-in on the salespage. I'm not getting any sales for quite sometime now for the said product. It could be the Opt-in or because I temporarily stopped updating my promotions when I saw the Opt-in.

Another bad thing is that I cannot find a product replacement. I really like that product and the refund rate is really low but I am afraid my efforts will not be credited. Should I continue to promote?

Thank you very much

My advice is to not promote products with optin forms.

You are just wasting your leads.

The proper way to promote products is to first send the traffic to a free optin offer on your own site, collect those leads, and then send them to the affiliate product -- one without an optin offer.

Why build someone else's list for them? Much smarter for YOU to build the list first and that way you can message those people over and over again and recommend more than just the one product to them.

      Thanks WillR,
That is why I am having second thoughts and stopped updating my promotions but I am also thinking I could be wrong. Thanks for the quick reply

        I agree with Will...

Sounds like your vendor got smart and realized the opportunity he was missing out on by not creating a list!

I've only been in IM for a few months now but have already realized the power of list building by reading threads here on WF. I'm currently working on my own product to sell via email marketing to people who opt in on MY list

Yes the vendor go smart because the product is really great. Maybe the vendor doesn't need affiliates now. I am a little sad because when I stopped promoting, I already accumulated 100 plus sales and only 9 refunds and I was getting around $40 plus commission. Anyway time to move on and find a replacement and build my own list as I usually have opt in on my websites too
