Wordpress automation question

Hi

Looking for some expert advice regarding wordpress.

I'm looking to tie in the wordpress registration to a list signup i.e

If some one registers on my blog, he also gets signed up to the list.
Upon confirmation, the registration at the blog also gets confirmed.

Is there any easy way (tweak, or plugin) to do this?

Easy is most important (I'm not looking for deep techie stuff);
Free preferred, or low cost (below 50 bucks, for unlimited site license).

Thanks

    Hi Radhika

I want to run a blog that allows people to register and post their content (bum articles for instance). For that, they need to be registered on the blog.

I would like the ability to email all registered users if there are any important updates (or if I'm recommending a new product etc.); but I don't want to post that on the blog itself. The ideal solution would be to have all of them on a double optin list, so that these emails can be sent when required.

I'm looking for a way to combine both i.e. a single form where they enter their email etc.. This signs them up for the list as well as the wordpress registration. At the same time, I don't want Wordpress to automatically approve the registration; what I'd like is to have the approval tied to the double optin confirmation.

    Hi BHmentor

Thanks - that's the next option. But I've seen a number of sites (example bustatheme.com) which have the functionality I'm looking for; except that it doesn't integrate with third party autoresponders, it uses the builtin email function.

I don't want to get my site / ip blacklisted for spamming, and even otherwise most hosts limit the number of emails per hour; it makes sense to use a reliable external double optin autoresponder.

Right now, I can have a 2 step process with
    a) Optin form for 3rd party autoresponder : On optin, it provides the authentication code
    b) Register Plus does allow use of authentication codes to approve signup on the blog; only, the user has to enter his details all over again.

I'm looking to eliminate the two step, make it one; also prevents people from sharing the authentication code and therefore bypassing the optin...

    I simply recommend you to
place an opt in box in the upper right
corner of your blog. Just below or above
    the RSS feed subscription button.
    Make it say something like:

"Get notified by email whenever I have
something cool to share with you"

    That is about it.

      Did you read the request?

I already know how to set up an optin box. I'm looking to automate / integrate the list with the Wordpress registration.

      Sheesh!
