Which of these two is more brandable, PhanFit or PhanFitness? I am thinking about doing a health/fitness site. Thanks for your opinions.

      Totally agree.

There is something missing in the other variation. This one leaves no doubts.

PhanFit is better in my opinion, since it's pretty snappy, pretty brandable.

Both are confusing when you say them, because you'll constantly have to explain to people that "it's "ph", not "f"."
In writing, both look unnatural, so I would actually not go with either one.

Want an example of something that works? GSP's "TouchFit".
It's an App, hence the "touch", and you guessed the "Fit" part is about being fit.

    Good luck!

    Hey Thien,

Take the advice of not using your last name with a grain of salt.

Whether you'll have to repeatedly explain the ph vs f may depend on the city you're in and whether there's a noticeable vietnamese community.

Worst case scenario is you'll provide content so good the word of mouth will include the "with a ph" in the conversation.

    Good luck!

If it's not pronounced the way it sounds then scrap this idea because you will constantly be correcting people and people will have your name as a source of irritation.

PhanFit gets my vote also, as mentioned PhanFitness sounds to me like a physical gym or something .

Get the domain and get to work before someone snatches it up and tried to sell it back to you, I would hope that warriors here wouldnt do that, but you never know.

I'd scratch both of them due to the confusion of 'ph' 'f' and the normal pronunciation (which is neither 'ph' nor 'f'. Too confusing, IMO.

I'd suggest not using your name in the product if you are trying to sell to a non-aisan market.

Just saying, many people can be put of by something that sounds foreign to them

If you are branding yourself I like it for a personal website PhanFit.com where you can sell your products, but I don't think it is appropriate for a product name.

PhanFitness simply because when people see the word "fitness", they will more than likely think that it has something to do with fitness. So some will click on your link looking for the fitness information, and along the way, you want to tell them why the "Phan" exists, and why it's in your domain name.

PhanFit just doesn't flow nor does it make clear what your site is about. PhanFitness just flows better and it's more descriptive.

Are you actively into the Fitness scene? Or are you just trying to get into this market.

If you are truly into fitness and can prove you are, then PhanFit is very brand-able, you are saying that people can be as Fit as Phan (you). That is what branding is all about.

If you are a person with those muscles, abs, or even cardio that people can see and attach to you personally, they would want to be as fit as Phan, which makes PhanFit very brand-able imo.

That was my thinking in this, others all have valid points here also.

PhanFit is probably better for online and will attract a higher dollar customer, I think, because it's simple and tasteful.

    Neither.

People won't be able to find your site because 'phan' sounds like 'fan' and that's instantly what people will think when someone tells them about the site. No one is going to think 'phan' when they hear it.

fanfitness.com is what they'll type in and search for.
