My Obligatory "What I've learned after 1000 posts" thread

So, this marks my 1000th post on the WF.

(Please, hold the applause)

Ok you guys - ok, sit down please!

Ok, so what I've learned - it's really nothing mind blowing or amazing to be honest with you.
  • Work Smarter, not Harder
  • Don't be afraid to take action
  • Don't be afraid to Fail
My Favorite quote from Thomas A. Edison: 'I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.',

Think about that for a second - Thomas Edison literally DID fail thousands of times in his attempt to perfect the lightbulb (even though he did not technically invent it) - he had his goal in mind, he tried and tried and kept at it until he persevered.

In all seriousness, if you're too afraid to fail that you won't even get started - you're never going to succeed.

Via the WF i've made friends, made contacts, JV's, masterminds - (partied in Vegas with ) many of the top names in IM. I work with quite a few of them now still on projects, coaching, webinars, products etc.

This is because of a few things: I never gave up, I was not afraid to try new things (or to fail) - and I made myself known to them via a good (honest) review of their product, or simply placing on their leader-board for the most products sold during a launch.

I'm a HUGE fan of keeping it simple - Sorry if this has not been a life changing message or anything, but I did want to say SOMETHING at least.

I'm not the smartest guy in the world, I don't have a college degree, If I can be successful in this industry, anybody can. Just be smart about things - and Seriously, take action - don't be afraid to fail.

    Nice post.

I take inspiration from this in a lot of ways. I'm fairly new to Internet Marketing and I've made mistakes and failed in a lot of my attempts. However, I'm still here, still learning, still hungry for success.

I've launched my first WSO with mixed results and now I'm trying my hand at building a solid email list full of buyers. I will continue to network, meet the right people, learn from them and hopefully find my way to success.

Good lesson to all newbies here from Jeff, never give up even if you fail. I want to be in a position where I can make a living from Internet Marketing, and I'll keep trying until I'm there. Positive attitude.

Look forward to telling the world my successes in my 1000th post.

    Chris.

Good post, good to see you are making progress.

I have failed with IM once before (I got greedy and my priorities were the wrong way around), but I dusted myself down, and went at it again (not before having a good, long hard look at myself in the mirror).

Well done and keep up the good work!

My takeaways from your post are: network, collaborate, and work together with people who "get" it. And really just hammer away at your craft no matter what. I agree.

My biggest takeaway after all this time is that nothing is more important than the traffic, because everything else is easy. And that is really one killer way to get it. And..

You can fight that reality for as long as you like, but you won't like it for very long!
