In Search of Product to Sell Online!

You can always look on ebay in peoples sales statistics and feedback to see what people are buying. Thats a good start. In fact, I used that method in 2009 to find a product that I still sell today on my own site. I've probably sold 55,000+ of those items. The item I picked was very cheap. Something everyone could afford. Profits aren't huge but they add up big time.

I wold focus on..

Picking an item that targets a very large audience (several million people).
Target people in the age range of 25 and up.
Sell items that are cheap. Even profits of $3.00 and item can = several thousand dollars a month profit.
Sell items that are more of a necessity rather then a luxury.
Promote items in a direct way and ways that could inspire impulse sales.

Just look for an item and think how you can take someone else's idea and make it better...nothing wrong with being first second.

First complete the design of your site. Grow your site in terms of traffic and ranking and then money making will be easier for you.

James, if you're not clearly passonate about any one thing, that's ok. I was in the same situation yet still found plenty of areas to delve into.

Why is it ok not to be passonate...? A copywriter can effectively write and persuade on a wide range of subjects and once the introductory signs of success begin, focus can be narrowed towards those areas. Your interests will develop from that.

Think about your top purchases... a tool, a household item, a yard product... is it something you consider one of your best buys ever? Do you already tell friends about it?

If so, check if there is any way you can promote that product! I had decent success with physical products until the Pennsylvania Nexus Internet Tax came along (vendors/affiliate programs refused to collect & remit the sales tax to PA, thus ending my relationship). I would still be with a couple were it not for that...!

Just be sure that the commission share is worth your time.

If there was a product which can bring you money, no one will share it here....

You have to do your own research. It's like asking "give me a tree and I eat all the apples"...

Yes there is something that I am really passionate about and that is music, I play the Bass guitar and Keyboard.

This is my greatest passion ever since I deveoped an inteterest at the age of 19 yrs old, I did not have the opportunity to learn music when I was a child but I was Blessed to learn at the age of 25 yrs old and I have not look back since.

I was taught how to play the Piano in a short space of time by learning basic scales and chords and with a little practice, I was able to play publicly within 8 months.

I can probably teach any adult to play the same as I was taught if they were to practice for a few months.

Only problem...is that I have no idea how to get started online as a passionate business and teaching easy piano lessons to adults.

You should still pursue a niche FIRST - even if you dont have anything that you're passionate about. Find a profitable and lucrative niche - and just exploit the market. You will probably learn more about the niche/topic than you will ever care to learn - but the income will come in strongly. The last thing you want is to create a product that nobody wants to buy... or to create a product that targets nobody.

No worries. You don't want to start a business out of your passion anyway. What you want to start is a business that you can get passionate about.

Agree with some of the other posters too, the first place to start is with a super duper specific niche. Just sit down and make a huge list of 40 ideas for niches that you might get interested in.

For example, just because you don't have a passion doesn't mean you can't make a list. I hate sports so I would never put any sports-related stuff on my list. Do it in reverse, think of it more as a list of stuff that you don't hate.

Once you make the list, then choose the ten things that you hate the least. Hopefully some of them are in the categories of health, wealth or relationships. Then, if you choose the ten that you like, make another list of sub-ideas within those categories. You need to get really specific to get any traction.


Edit: Didn't notice your music passion post above til after submitting. Go with that! But pick something ridiculously specific within the niche (like a specific type of music that you teach, I don't know, like how to back up fiddlers on the piano or something like that). Also, don't overthink it too much. Just go with it and start to implement it. The whole idea is for you to START and get some experience under your belt. You will learn so much just by putting your first site up and going through the motions. Odds are your biz will morph as you learn anyway, the important thing is to take some small steps forward every day.

Even if you aren't sure if you're passionate about something now, you'll surely find out once you start marketing it.

You must be passionate about something - either making lots of money or something just fun in your life. I know people are just promoting product for the sake of commissions without even knowing what the product is. Sure you can make some money here and there but if you don't even know what the product , eventually you will have a sense of dissatisfaction.

I am making good money on an internet marketing product - I truly believe in it and I will never again promote other products.

So yup you need to find something that you can build on even after you have your list - don't be so scattered

Try to make research at Amazon and eBay. Look at Youtube what is trending. Example: Gangnam Style trending at Youtube. Look at Amazon. Plenty of people just buy t-shirts and all the products connected to it. So advertise those products. Do you catch the idea?

I tend to repeat the same message over and over because over the years, I've found it to be truer and truer.

You need to be in a business model with recurring revenue versus 1 time commissions or 1 time revenue sales. With recurring revenue products, you're always building on your existing base versus creating a new base daily.

It is definitely a harder selling process but pays off big in the long run.

And forget the passion part, nobody cares what you're passionate about. Find what I'm passionate about and provide that to me. Then I'll pay you for it!
