Hiring a Virtual Assistant for traffic generation...

Hi guys,

My monthly membership site will be live in around 3-4 months time (when returning from travelling), and I'm brainstorming ways of driving traffic to my squeeze page & autoresponder series.

I've already started building a blog with the purpose of growing a subscriber/email list, but currently only growing at 1-2 sign ups per day.

I'll be driving traffic through social media too, but again, this will take time to grow as currently only getting 1-5 visitors per day through this..

So... I was looking at hiring a Virtual Assistant to work solely on driving targeted traffic to my landing/squeeze page.

Any suggestions on what tasks to have the VA do each day?

Some I though of already:

> Blog commenting on relevant blogs
> Using other web 2.0 properties such as StumbleUpon and Digg

And then I've hit a brick wall :-/

Any ideas / tips / advice on the tasks to have them do?

Maybe we could turn this post into a resource for rolling out in any niche/industry?

Thanks guys! :-D

Forum posting and manually creating backlinks for SEO would be other obvious tasks...

What worked for me is to enlist one of my workers to make a list of niche related blogs, after approval he'd then contact them and ask if we can do a guest post on their site in exchange for a citation.

That worked really well. What also worked is facebook PPC advertising to build our main mailing list.

These are just two things your VA could work on for starters that brought me the most success.

  • There's something you need to understand: a VA won't offer you solutions, he/she will simply replicate steps you've instructed him/her to do. That means that if you don't know how to get traffic, dont expect your $500/month VA all of a sudden to know how to drive traffic to your site.

So, before hiring anyone, make sure you can provide him/her specific instructions on what to do and how to do it.

      Thanks for this

This is pretty much the point of this thread, to brainstorm ideas for traffic generation, then hand a 'to do' list to the VA to execute each day / week / month...

I agree with this. Last year when I had quit my day job and finally worked online completely I got totally excited about VAs so I hired and ...well...
      what happened was:
nobody could actually do what I wanted to because I didn't give clear instructions.
So yes, you need to be really really clear about what you want.
Also, you might be quickly sick about paying someone for chatting (that is what I experienced) so better you pay him/her for commenting on XX posts and you even better give the links to the posts and ask that person to make a screenshot of his comment. just be really really clear, otherwise it is a waist of money.

You have to make a plan and give it to your VA to do all the work as per your instructions for traffic generation. You have to trained your VA for better results , So I suggest you to learn about traffic generation and then make a to do list for your VA . I recently buy a WSO about traffic generation and this is really very good.

Thank you Preets, again, this is reason for this thread, to brainstorm a list of ideas to create a plan of attack for the VA to execute.

What was the name of the WSO which you purchased on traffic generation? Are you actually applying what is taught and seeing traffic as a result of this? Or does it look good on paper with no tangible result to show just yet?

I suggest you find the methods that will generate traffic.

Apply them until you master then and only then hire a VA to perform the steps.

    Cheers,

Yes , I read the ebook and applied the methods taught in WSO , I dont want to post a link here. If anybody want to know about it shoot me a PM and I will give you the link ( not affiliate link as I don't promote any affiliate product here). Or you can use search button to find it ,the Warrior name is " Fredbou". ( keyword : nothing magical about it ).

  • An experienced VA can give recommendations on how to generate traffic but it would still be up to you on what to use and figuring out which ones are most effective/

I would spend the money that you were going to spend on the VA on PPC.

      Here is why:

PPC is guaranteed traffic as soon as you hit the payment button.

VAs take time to train. It takes months to trim the work fat to where your VA is working as efficiently as they should be (I only know this because I have 9 working for me atm).

PPC will teach you how to crank your copy to convert.

VAs can't do anything that your site visitors won't already do in a more powerful way to generate traffic. What do I mean? I mean, unless you are willing to invest in an IP rotator, and have your VA sit there and hit the social buttons until Google takes notice, then the best thing to do is use PPC to draw the traffic in from people who will take your stuff and start pushing it out into the web for you.

Forget adwords for PPC. Try Facebook or Stumbleupon. I prefer stumbleupon simply because Stumble users propagate my stuff faster and better than the FB traffic.

But again... I am just a guy on the forum. Take this at face value.
Excellent, priceless advice, thank you very much for this!

If this thread teaches me nothing else, you my good sir, have offered a nugget of wisdom!

I recommend for get more social such as: G+, Fb and Twitter. Penguin 2.0 (#4) demands a high quality content (100% unique)., not spamm blog comment or low quality guest post. So you should go to web 2.0 properties with good content.

Hire Virtual Assistant at OnlineJobs. Some people there are very keen in traffic generation and their job is not expensive.

They can surf for you on traffic exchanges, post classified ads, do article marketing (some can) and many other types of traffic generation. I'd be careful using a VA for blog commenting. Make sure you give them specific instructions or you could end up with a bunch of spam comments that don't stick.
