How To: Get a FASTER WordPress blog?

Hey Guys,

I'm having a little trouble with my WordPress blog and I've searched and tried a few techniques/plugins that are supposed to make my blog faster, but most have failed.

Have you found anyway to make a blog load faster without having to delete content?

Cheers,
Niels

Or How about the one that turns your pages into Static Html. That might work for you

No. I've searched for it in Google though but I couldn't find a good resource.
What are they and how are they going to help my blog?

That could work, but wouldn't that kill most of my links and embedded videos?
I'm not much of a webmaster.. I can't even tell the difference between php and html.

It's hosted at ''Antagonist.nl'' which is one of the biggest Dutch hosts out there. I don't think they're slowing me down, but just to make sure, how can I check if they are?

I'll be hosting my future campaigns at Hostgator though. Hostgator is about double the price of Antagonist, but I hear nothing but good things about it.

      Cheers,

Try WP-Cache plug in which you can find in WP plug-in directory. Should help you.

I'll second that... I was surprised how quickly I had to move over to a dedicated server for my blog. Wait... I started with normal hosting. Then moved it to a VPS. Now it's a year on a dedicated server, which I'll also need to upgrade by summer with more ram.

All this is not a bad thing --traffic = life for a blog.

      Success,
      Sam

WordPress › WP Super Cache WordPress Plugins

    Will solve your problems.

It serves a static page that is updated at a set interval rather than hitting your database on every load.

You can also change the intervals and set it to refresh the cache upon new comments and posts, etc.

Even fast hosts can get sluggish with WP because your DB gets queried so often.

I use Super cache as well (two comments above this post) and it works really good. I have posts that get a few hundred visits everyday and never have trouble getting pulled up as they are cached. Also along with less drag on the database this will help any other blogs that you have hosted on that mysql database.

Which plugins are you currently using - 10 to 1 odds are that one of your current plugins is the problem.
