Text Link Ads? yes or no

Can someone give me some pointers on text link ads. I have a web site together and I'm ready to start driving some traffic. I have about $100 to spend on advertising and I'm considering text link ads with a presell page along with 3 regular link ads to start driving some traffic. What do you think my best option is to get the biggest bang for my buck. I've already tried banner ads with buy sell ads with no success at all and I'm really looking to make a good decision here so I don't get thrown out of the game.

Personally, I dont think textlink ads are worth it. Compared to adsense etc, the revenue is pretty low and not to mention it is pretty annoying for user experience.

Well I will give it a shot to answer your question, if you explain the product show the pages and tell me what your short term and long term goals are.

Oh and talking about being thrown out of the game. If that was the case I would of been out nearly 20 years ago. I have made so many costly errors and I wouldn't trade for anything, cause I learned alot from each one.

Unfortunately the timing is really bad. Paid links vendor TLA was taken down according to a tweet by big G anti spam chief Matt Cutts. So why waste your little ad budget on a dying horse? The limited the resources the smarter you gotta be.

Text link ads have never done much for me as an advertiser or a user. They really annoy me and I wouldn't click on any of them ! Not to be confused with links to pages withing a site that are done for SEO purposes.

Adwords is worth a try, but there are lots of free or really cheap ways of getting traffic to your site.

I have tried adwords and it seems to work good so I may just run another campaign on there...I got the idea for text link ads from watching the 13 pillars of internet marketing seminar on youtube...but to be honest I dont' really know too much about it...I'm just desperate to drive some traffic that will actually convert....what are some free ways of getting traffic? What about paying for shopping comparison sites like nextag and shopzilla?

    Short answer: No

Long answer: waste of money. There are better ways to advertise.
