FiverrV2 is coming soon... I guess... as mentioned in Fiverr website where you can buy and sell upto $500.

    Don't think so...

Fiverr similar sites will always exist.. Well as long as the business model still works.

Fiverr is awesome. The secret: deliver a great service and you'll make money. I have made THOUSANDS off Fiverr and most of my customers are REPEAT customers. Fiverr v2.0 will just make it easier for both sellers and buyers to get MORE VALUE from the platform.

Jobs that can take hours such as software development will fit very well here. e.g

    - For $500 I will build a programmable virtual helper into your site
    - For $500 I will build a mini game show casing your products that will promote sales and return traffic

It'll be interesting to see how this works out for Fiverr. I wouldn't be surprised if they started losing a lot of buyers when all the current sellers start raising their prices.

But the demand for cheap outsourcing is high so people will continue to flock to Fiverr. Also, won't it take some time for the new site to build a rep and get traffic because they can't call it "fiverr" if the gigs cost way more than a fiver.

Exactly. None of the competing sites took off, they kind of seemed to die out on their own for the most part. Every one I've seen that is almost identical to Fiverr is now a ghost town, and always kind of was.

So I wouldn't say that this new version of Fiverr is marking the end of anything. Fiverr has ruled this niche since it launched and shows no sign of being outdone anytime soon.

I feel its not a very good decision by fiverr, Since There are many people already doing things at higher price...

People go to Five RR because of affordable pricing.

Now that Fiverr has built its audience based on the low flat rate, and have convinced the community it delivers good value for the dollar, it's trying to see can they hold the community if they broaden the price points for gig purchases.

Well, maybe, maybe not. Fiverr won't kill off the gig sites that pay via different processors, or the ones that pay in just a day, etc. So long as the alternatives have a UMP that isn't duplicated by Fiverr, and deliver ok service, they should survive.

fiverr is known for cheap outsourcing , fiverr for $5 ,,,,,,, i don't think $500 will work or not.
and the fiver and paypal fee .... also , for $500... fiverr turned into a freelancer/elance clone, workroom,fixedprice,..... no one is going to spend $500 .... its hard to track them on fiverr.

Oh, sure, people will spend $500 on gigs. Just depends on the gig and demand for it. I shelled out $125 between 2 sellers last week for a client, and everyone was happy with the result. And there is a Warrior on there who is bad ass at presentations. With a big enough client, I'd gladly shell out $1000 for his work, no problem.

Fiverr is Fiverr. Sites like fiverr are nowhere near to the popularity of Fiverr. I have came across a lot of sites which are like fiverr and they have hardly got any buyer. Naturally, there are not much high quality gigs too.

$5 is a JOKE! I always felt so. $500? NOW we're talking! It is ABOUT TIME that they did it. A 20% cut is LUDICROUS though. If they want 20%, they are almost GUARANTEED to lose to other sites.

$1 IS reasonable! GRANTED, it was 25%, but $1 probably barely covers the costs. $100 for $500, though the same percentage, is not NEARLY the same. It amounts to robbery. That is ESPECIALLY true when the seller has so much at stake. $100 doesn't just merely cover the costs, but practically pays for EVERYTHING, including the computer to run everything, in ONE sale.

I have mixed thoughts on this. Theirs so many quality items on that site and the price is awesome. I really like the $5 with $5 add ons model.

I fear that prices will go way up, and the quality at the low end will take a dive.

I hope we get a new range of gigs that are far above the $5 quality and range. I would be happy to pay more if we are getting more.

They will have to change their fee structure for this. $100 out of $500 would be an outrageous fee.

Not only that but then the buyer would bascially be paying an extra $100 for using Fiverr when they can get the same quality service for anywhere else.

Their fee structure works well for microjobs but not for the larger fee structures.

I actually think the new idea that tfiverr is coming up wiht is pretty cool. My guess though is that maybe people will only be able to start selling at $5? I think that they should let the higher level sellers that are really popular expand their prices but maybe the lower level sellers still can only make $5 or $10 gigs until they've developed more popularity and sales? That way all the gigs don't get outragiously priced and it's still affordable which is what made their market so unique.

The main reason of fiverr become popular because of it's 5$ pricing model and got many good provider inside fiverr, well if the price goes up i even don't think fiverr will as popular as before. Because i've seen many competitor already did as the new version of fiverr. just my 2 cent

Exactly. You build a website devoted to the cheapest 'marketers' on the Internet, and then you imagine many of them are going to hunker down and start paying 'real rates' for services. Fiverr needs to know their role.

That is nonsense, people use Fiverr because it is cheap, that was their shtick. All it has done is allow their sellers to sell the same gigs for more money. I wouldn't be surprised if all else fails, Fiverr reverted back to their original idea.

I do believe fiverr made the biggest mistake of all time.

They are trying to move from being Micro Job niche to freelancer.

With all respect to fiverr, they are not their nor are they reliable enough.

Sure, I would go risk $5 and see if a service will happen or not but with their new module of nonsense. I wouldn't even bother searching.

Their new interface looks like they want to be the future pinterest.

I do believe fiverr just opened the door to every small or mini competitor to compete with them, because sites that sticking with their prices making it easier to the user.

I think they are copying the model of all the clone sites that sprung up, that charge more for gigs.

It's a knee jerk reaction if you ask me. The appeal of a $5 gig that made them famous, is gone. I am sure most of the gigs, will be the same $5 gigs with a higher price.

Sometimes greed can come back and bite you in the ass, we'll see how this all plays out...

IMO it's a natural business behavior to transform your assets for that they become more profitable.

Fiverr dominate the micro jobs market and there are way more clients on Fiverr today in times than only marketers which need a few links, a logo or a intro video.

I see this as a great opportunity to build yourself a stable business if you can provide a good service for the mass.

Fiverr takes care of the traffic and the payment process and you take care on delivering what you offered.

Upselling for up to 500 bucks opens a huge range of new offers like real, quality webdesign, quality backlinking, coaching etc....

Fiverr must review their share off course as a 20% cut won't leave a seller happy.

I just couldn't figure how to get access to this feature, most probably only for top rated sellers available.

      G.

it would have been smarter of them to start a new service for the high-end stuff

they already have the rep and the clientbase to traffic a new site from day one.

I really don't think any competitor will even feel the changes that fiverr brought on the table... (one think that most competitors (like seoclerks and gigbucks as to mention few examples that i know) have done is to adapt to the market - am not even talking of competition here.

I like the new fiver look and idea to offer other services than micorjobs - that will for sure make them more money - but competitors - won't have anything to struggle with...

(I personally have never had success with fiverr, but i make a descent income from their so call competitors) - the reason is that fiverr (has a lot of people that they restrict by having only PayPal as their payment system -)- while on the other hand the competitors mentioned above allow users to Buy stuff using Payza - and pay their seller using Payoneer (talking of Seoclerks -)- (((---))) ...

Well done fiverr, but nothing to worry about for the competition.
