Fiverr has announced a "Reinvention" of itself:

New Marketplace
New Interface
New Seller Storefront
New Todo Sheets
Cross-platform Compatibility
Analytics Dashboard
Self-Service Help

- and some indication of, wait for it - custom gig prices!

Boom goes the dynamite.

    This might become very interesting.

I can think of a few very big sites that might be starting to get nervous...

I am really looking for this update from fiverr.

Anyway I am not sure about the 'custom gig prices', no where they mentioned about it.

^ I saw it in a member splash screen, not the main announcement page. Up to $500 for a gig.

I think this could have a lot of potential for business.

See it and sign up for Fiverr's waiting list HERE

Just think - instead of limiting yourself to $5 ($4 net), or competing with other services on price - you could offer whatever you offer. No Clickbank-type 3rd party affiliating, though. They WILL remove your gig.

I was going to offer a copywriting gig as a $5 loss-leader there; upsell to higher services.

Instead, it might be simpler to charge what a gig is worth in the first place. Keep things simple.

It looks like Fiverr is trying to completely knock out some of those freelance websites that have been around forever

Interesting. I wonder if that will actually improve the quality of gigs you can buy or the ones that are really only worth $5 will just raise their prices. lol.

      Quite a significant overhaul!

It looks better! Time will tell on it's functionality.

      Now the clones ain't clones!...

I think that there's room for both, sbucciarel. If you ask me, what fiverr really could use is some sort of comment capability so that providers can respond to the negatives and positive ratings. As it is, anyone could post any kind of rating and the owner has no recourse to demonstrate any individual issues that may interfere with a person's experience. In other words, you could undermine competition by purchasing their gig for $5 and saying anything you want to dissuade their customers.

I think this is a deficiency. Fiverr should not only protect Buyers, but let Sellers also protect themselves - after all a successful seller is good for Fiverr's business. Fiverr needs to demonstrate commitment to their sellers' success. A simple 2-way ratings comment might go a long way toward getting BOTH sides of the story.

This has been my biggest concern thus far. Are the days of $5 outsourcing over with Fiverr V2? Maybe.

Very excited about seeing what Fiverr has to offer with these updates. Could be some big changes coming to the whole freelancer landscape.
