Making money off trending news with domain name

Hello All, The huge breaking stories of the US Government spying programs on American citizens looks like it's growing to grow huge. Yesterday it was collecting all cell phone metadata. Today it's that the NSA is also tapping directly into Internet Company servers like Facebook, Yahoo, Google, Apple, Microsoft, Youtube, Skype etc and collecting not just metadata for chat content, email content, searches, files sent such as pics and videos and have been collecting this on hundreds of millions of Americans for the last 7 years using a program called Prism. If you sent a naughty pic to someone, they know it and have a copy of the pic and message, at least this is where the story is headed on the news tonight.

I imagine that this will be a huge ongoing story and issue for the forseeable future. If a person had been able to register such domain names such as Governmentspying.com, Prismspyingprogram.com, NSAspyingprogram.com or others that were pretty precise and keyed into the headlines, would one be able to monetize it by the virtue of the domain names like those and how would one do so?

Would one provide news and information with perhaps some articles that educated people on how to surf the internet say via using a VPN service then having an affiliate link to several VPN services? Other ideas??

Is regular news, but profoundly huge news that could blow up into something huge something that one could educate people and monetize at the same time?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

No Wikileaks is old news, I'm talking about the news that has all erupted within about the last 72 hours that the US Government through the Cell phones and through the Internet have been tracking monitoring the calls, texts, email, Internet chat, Web search actions of the American people as a whole. In the coming days and months I would expect lots of search traffic with some direct domain name matching. Could that be capitalized on. At least it's finally been confirmed, Big Brother really is watching everything.

        Hood,

The "government spying" theme is really old news that pops up again and again. I'm an old fart and remember many different instances during my lifetime that breaking news related to this theme has surfaced.

Now I'm not saying that a news or editorial site about this recurring theme can't be profitable, I guess I'm suggesting that if you want to make a web site on this subject you do so with the realization that individual news items will be hot for a few days then they will cool down and simply become yesterday's news (which doesn't tend to hold folks' interest too well).

        Good luck to you,

        Steve
