Best way to advertise my website... Facebook ? AdWords ? Other ?

Hey Warriors !

I have developed an original website based on funny pictures, funny articles and funny stuff in general. I have already invested in Facebook Ads to promote my page. I have now 5000 fans but even if I have a lot of interactions with them (I post funny pictures and other things), they only like the post but they don't often click on the link to go to my website... I would like your advices because I can invest something like $100 for every two weeks ($200 per month) but I don't really know what place I can choose to drive some traffic to my website. I have a $75 coupon for AdWords, so I thought about it. What do you think ? I know that I can aslo promote some status on Facebook ads, maybe that more people will click on it... And what do you think about the Reddit or StumbleUpon ad system ?

Thanks !

Adwords is expensive, stick with Facebook ads and maybe try some PPV like leadimpact if you have more cash to invest

Tumblr and Pinterest could be a good shout. Go for something visual where users can see the images but will need to click on the image to see more on your site

You do need to have a decent amount of followers to get results from Pinterest. I suggest following more people yourself so that they'll look at your Pinterest profile and likely follow you back.

Also, be sure to pin images every day to keep yourself in front of your followers. This allows them to see your new pins and potentially re-pin them for their own followers to see. (Which, in turn, can get you more followers.)

      Hope this helps.

Adwords and Facebook ads are good for advertising. But Facebook ads are cheaper and you can get more targeted audience there.

    Not in any particular order:

    1) Adwords

    2) Facebook

    3) LinkedIn

These three will bring you more traffic then you could ever handle.

Adwords is targeted traffic, but not as specific as you might always like.

Facebook is about as targeted as the traffic can get...

LinkedIn can put you in front of exactly who you want.

    Hope this helps.

You can also try to do like the other "funny" sites do.
dont post the picture, but a link to the page where the picture is, so on facebook they only see a thumbnail of the picture, and when they click to see it they comes to your site... if that was understandable....

When you promote on Facebook to get more fans, I personally think that it is a waste of time. Your main goal is to get as many people viewing your website so that some of them will buy something from you or the products that you are offering there.

The only time that you want to use Facebook ads or their pay per click platform is when you direct people directly to your website.

If that is not allowed there then just use Google Adwords and Yahoo/Bing.

Wow! Thank you very much for all your answers !

I have already tried Pinterest and despite the time I have spent on it, I have not had a lot of followers... So no traffic for the moment from Pinterest. But I will try again since I have improved my website with an original tool that I have developed.

So, do you think that it's a good idea to invest in Facebook Ads to promote my website ? (and this time, not my Facebook page). Since it's a "funny" website, I think that I will target less people on Goolge Adwords (or it will be more expensive) than on Facebook Ads.

Can you develop this a little ?

And about LinkedIn, I've never tried to promote something on this platform but I don't think that it's the best for funny websites (correct me if I'm wrong).

Try changing your post status headlines leading to the link. Go to news sites or yahoo news and check their headlines then copy the headlines that is appropriate to your post. Track the number of visitors for each post. Get the effective headlines and reuse them for your other posts.

You should always remember that people in FB are people like you so you should know how to engage with them.

Don't forget old fashion SEO. I know in our fast-food, what-it-yesterday culture, SEO might not bring a thousand visitors a day the moment a website goes live, but SEO should be a long term strategy.
