Hi Guys and Gals

Thinking of buying and selling domains

does anyone know of any info on how to go about starting this up, ie where to go to buy and sell your domains? any domain brokers out there and that can sell your domains for you

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Kishor,

Sedo.com is probably the best known broker, or for general advice go to NamePros.com forum.

Do you even have the knowledge to do it? Since you're asking where to buy and sell domains I suppose you don't.

Don't enter the business without first seeing out it works by observing others: get yourself an account at dnforum.com and namepros.com and consume all the free information you can for at least 3 months.

Only after that, you should start selling and buying domains.

I agree with Tyrus, just make sure you do your research first on the subject. There are so many places - but you'll want to make sure you get it right.

I agree with the others. I started flipping domains about 2 months ago and I am just now beginning to make some money. Like anything else out there, you need to know the basics first and have a clear business plan on what you are trying to accomplish.

Additionally, it may be helpful for you to consider taking a course on domain flipping. Warrior Gene Pimentel has an excellent course on domain flipping you might want to check out if you are interested.

    Good luck,

It's not easy to earn money. Anybody who tells you it is easy is scamming you.

Well, this is what I usually do -> Find a good short domain name, of course you cant find pizza.com ..lol After finding it, I register it and then list on Sedo. And till now there is not even one listing/domain which has not been sold on sedo. Even the worst domain gets sold on sedo for $100.

I've bought and sold many domains since 2001. Never lost on a transaction. Better than stock market. DNForum excellent place to start learning. Stay with quality domains. Domain Market much tougher now. Good Luck

With domain flipping, there are ways to make immediate cash, and there are ways to develop long term cash. You don't necessarily have to know what you're doing if you have access to the right resources. Otherwise, there is a long learning curve to get a good sense of what types of domains will likely make you money. My suggestion is to dig into some of the great domaining forums and see what others are doing to make money in the business. Then, register and buy a domain or two (after you've studied what makes a highly marketable domain name) and try your hand at selling. Learn from your experience and register a few more. Trial and error will steer you in the right direction... but DON'T make the mistake that so many make by registering dozens or hundreds of domains right off the bat, without a solid understanding of what makes a marketable domain.

Before getting into domaining it is a must that you do your research into what it is that makes a domain valuable. Good places to learn about domains are namepros.com and DNjounal.com.
For finding expired domains I recommend freshdrop.net

    Cheers,
    Danny.

I've sold domains & sites ranging from the 1k to 31k range...and the best purchases of domains always come from someone that contacts you first with interest. Make sure your whois info has a easy way for you to be found (good email or phone).

Other than that, sedo.com is truly one of the more active places to get your domains listed for sale. Others that I've seen that work for people are sitepoint.com and dnforum.com....there are at least half a dozen other forums and marketplaces out there, but to start focus on the big ones where all the eyeballs are at.

    Hope this helps.
