Social Media Marketing: Back to The Basics!!!!
My name is James. Some of you might know me. I am a graphic designer and small business owner. I have worked with a few different members companies here (branding, website design, print work etc.) and run a service ad in the 'Warriors For Hire' section.
I just wanted to share some useful marketing information with everyone. Hopefully it helps you in some way but I wanted to go over some of the basics that produce results.
LANDING PAGES:
Landing pages are strictly about LEAD GENERATION. The process is simple but efficient: Offer a product or service and get people to buy it. Nothing else.
Tips To Higher Conversion Rates:
Use social media in at least two ways:
1. To increase traffic
2. To increase conversion rates to enable more visitors to become leads.
Direct the customer through you landing page to a sale:
1. Do not over educate the potential client. That is what a website is for. Landing pages are not websites.
2. Keep It Simple Stupid! The old K.I.S.S acronym is essential.
3. Remove as many options from the user as possible. This means eradicate a navigation section. Acquire all the information you need but reduce the form but reducing the fields on the form.
Provide a great offer:
1. That sounds so simple but solve a problem, offer a product or service, provide useful information etc.
2. Give a clear, concise and direct proposal.
Think like a marketer:
1. Well, you are! Aren't you? Get back to the basics of marketing. Analyze your previous clients. Know your demographic. Implement strategies on your landing page to accommodate your audience.
Test out your landing page:
1. Use friends or family to test out your page. Do not tell them you are doing an experiment. Tell them to look over the information on the page, as you watch. Give them 2 minutes to surf through the page. Then close the page and ask them what the offer was about and if they would be interested. This will test if the offer was compelling and the impact your site has in a 2 minute span. Most new visitors wont give you more than 2 minutes to sell them.
Make sure your site is aesthetically pleasing to your demographic:
1. Well, I am a multi-disciplinary graphic designer. Hire me!
Hire someone who can produce great compelling content:
1. It is not expensive to hire a copywriter. Get one. Specifically one that deals with landing pages. If you saw someone else's landing page that you liked, contact them and ask who wrote their content. Explain your vision to the copywriter but dont write it yourself.
2. Make sure the content is memorable.
3. Say something new and exciting. Or say something old in a new way.
4. Give testimonials from leading experts in the industry who are respected and ask for them to promote the landing page as well.
5. Simple,simple, SIMPLE.
Okay I think that is enough for now. Let me know your thoughts and strategies!
