Hey guys

I think this is time for me to get someone to show and guide me to replicate his success. Someone who is able to tweak the work I’ve done so I can better see the process for improving my work.

So a started looking for mentor or coach. But i read recently that there a mentor is not a coach.

Please can someone tell exactly what's the difference between a coach and a mentor? Be coached or Be mentored ?

Can you suggest someone i could follow to go to this next level?

Thank you
- Jesisco

A coach teaches you stuff. A mentor inspires you. Although a coach can teach you and inspire you, a coach primarily works on pushing you and training you. A mentor usually focuses on inspiration and ADVICE.

      Well said

It should make no difference choose someone who can make you money plain and simple!

Former astronaut, ballerina, garbage man, factory worker, entrepreneur, it makes no difference!

If they quit their old jobs and they are making great money doing something that you yourself want to do, and they are willing to offer their knowledge for a small fee, then that is all that matters ( results! ).

Just do your research on the person that you are going to put your time and trust in to make sure they are legitimate.

To put it simply: a mentor gives you advice on what to do, a coach gives advice and then pushes you to do it.

    It doesn't matter.

Just find someone that can save you from potentially losing years and thousands of dollards in wasted time and money.

Mentor = Someone who you sort of look up to and who guides you.

Coach = Someone who says, "DO THIS," and gets you results.

I think it's good to try to get in with someone that you're already familiar with - particularly if you have bought their products and experienced success from them.

Also you would want to know that the person you choose is already living the life you want to live, and has already achieved the success you strive for.

The term does not really matter..

Just find someone who has time for you and who is already where you want to be.

    Cheers,

I've taught people for much of the last 30 years, and I use the terms
interchangeably. In the military, we also called it sponsorship, when
we took someone under or wings and groomed them for greater
    responsibility and leadership roles.

In my mentoring and coaching, I don't spoon feed anyone. We
interview each other, and then are expected to follow-through.

I do have online friends who call themselves coaches though, and
they view one of their roles as pushing people who hire them to
do that, pressuring them to make breakthroughs.

Instead of doing that, I look for self-starters who want success
as much as a drowning man wants air!
