Newbie Q - Niche research

I'm a novice at this whole arena of internet marketing. I would love to be able to make a go of this. However, my main sticking point right now is finding a niche. And finding a niche that I can actually monetize. In much of the research I've done, I have come across folks who suggest looking at your interests first and going from there. Quite frankly, I am having a hard time trying to wrap my brain around the process of - 1) trying to find a niche (or two or three) to jump into and 2) How to go about trying to actually make money off of that niche.

Any thoughts, ideas or resources you can toss my way would be really appreciated.

First think about promoting niches that have products associated with them that people actually need. A general example would be a site about acne that sells acne products.

When I look for niches I look at the bunch of affiliate sites I belong to and see if I can find some that have products on a few sites. You don't need to do this - but obviously you are on the right track of coming up with your way to make money before starting a website.

How does researching niches on google, etc. help with choosing a niche? I've seen various items that tell you to look up various niche keywords to see how much traffic/hits they get, etc. I'm unclear on that whole process.

    mike116,

If you are having trouble finding a niche, head on over to your local book store or Walmart and have a gander at the massive magazine section.

Virtually any niche that has a magazine, will make money.

Pick something that interests you and you are off.

What you need to do is to act on what you have: your hobby, expertise, passion and mistakes....

There are a lot of niches there but you do not have to go to a niche because Mr. A just said he is making money with it.

Search within you, research for what people need and see how you can provide a solution for that hungry market as they will be ready to throw money at you to get what you have if you have the code.

    Where to get niches are:
    1. Amazon ; Look at what is selling there
    2. Forum like this
    3. Google
    4. wordtracker

Once you have found this niche, take action to make money with it. If you don't you won't make money
