Just wanted to share ideas on how you are making money on fiverr. I make mine doing videos. At first I wasn't making much but that was because I was offering too much for one gig. I am slowly averaging $10-$15 per gig plus getting tips.

So how are you making money on fiverr?

  • Congrats Jreed. I've never actually used Fiverr as a seller before, but with the reported changes coming up that will allow a custom gig price then I may be tempted to give it a try. Look forward to hearing how other members are succeeding with Fiverr.
  • I offer writng and other services on fiverr.

    • How many words, and do you not find this too time consuming?

    • I did this for awhile as well. Got quite a few orders and I was getting a lot of return clients. But I got tired of having to wait for 2 weeks to get my money so I decided to advertise my work elsewhere. Maybe I will set up another gig in the future if I need more work.

How long does it take you to make one video?
  • Congrats !

I personnaly make $1500-$2000 per month on Fiverr. I have discovered this awesome website 3 months ago and my student life has moved to my professional life based on my main passion : the web development and the web design.

    • Very nice, what kind of gigs do you provide. I do product reviews and testimonials
    • Exceptionally high earning!!
What is your gigs in particular?
How long a gig take to be completed?
  • JReed, if you don't mind answering these...
What kind of videos? Slideshows, 3D graphics, showing your face and speaking about something, etc?
    Are these testimonials, reviews, tutorials?
How long are your vids on average?

EDIT: Nevermind, seems like you posted some of the answers as I was typing this post.

    Congrats.
  • Al but one of my gigs are simply how to videos. I don't sell anything on fiverr that requires more than 5 minutes to deliver. If I had learned earlier how to not piss them off I'm sure I'd be making more than $150 per day by now, lol.

Its by far one of the best sleeper money making sites on the web.

If you look carefully, you can see that it has the best of the online jv/affiliate world going for it including 80% commission payouts, done for you sales pages, video sales platform, social media sharing and social proof aka testimonials.

You have everything you need to learn to be a real business owner via fiverr.

I just love it and recommend anyone NOT making money yet to give it a run.

    Regards

    • I agree on learning not to piss fiverr off. I didn' t know all there rules and lost a high paying gig because of it. Oh well at least they didn't shut me completely down.

How to video's? what kind of things are you teaching?
  • How much time does it take to make one video on average?
    • [1] reply
    • for me depending on the content normally 5 minutes to film it, including retakes. some take longer but I charge more for those.

Then it takes time to clip them and upload but no more than a couple hours total. I do all my videos at once.
  • I earned my first dollar from fiverr. Made 20 gigs full of plr articles, plr ebooks, plr videos, etc. Sold lots of them and earned 100% rating. Really quick money spending only few minutes per day.

    • that's great. I tried that and got it taken down due to possibility of copyright infringement. Oh well, glad it's working for you.
    • All verbs are in past tense. So what is ur present?

Does it mean that fiverr is not helpful to earn at present?
Does it mean that u dont work in fiverr now ?
  • I earned a small amount with fiverr .. I haven't tired to push it !

    • Sounds u r telling the truth.
      Thanks in advance.
  • I haven't gotten into Fiverr but that is great that you are making a decent chunk of change....There are many opportunities that I haven't explored yet sing Fiverr...Thanks!
  • I made my first money online on fiverr as well doing article writing. My articles are normally anywhere from 500 to 700 words. My problem though is I have made money but not a lot from fiverr, so I'm trying to figure out how I can get more traffic to my gigs so that people can see my service. the few people who have bought my gig have rated me a 100%, so I'm moving along, slowly lol.
  • I want to add fiverr as an option to customize the designs we sell on our website but i do believe others are making a full income from that site. They have also redesigned the site which is coming soon so I am guessing, fiverrr definitely is reliable. Also, as a buyer, it is a very cheap deal for me to hire someone for $5.
  • I tried fiverr last week for the first time and I never received any action on the gig that was contracted. That guy just never responded, not even once. Then fiverr stepped in and gave me the option to withdraw my request, which I did.

I think they have a good concept because everyone has little jobs that they could have done for a reasonable price. These little jobs can develop into big jobs, and you get an opportunity to test out the talent before you ask someone to do a bigger job for you.
  • Fiverr is such a great place to earn and spend money. I am really looking forward to the 2.0 update that's coming.
  • sounds good, how did you make videos? and long does it take to finished 1 order? do you have minimum time duration in every vid?
    • [1] reply
    • In the beginning, I gave away alot to build up clientelle and feedback. I offer video gigs and I state in the title that there are no time limits.

This sets me apart from others because everyone else always says 30 seconds max.

So as time went on I started keeping track of all the special requests and I turned those requests in to upgrades.

so now as it stands a single gig is for me to read a 6 sentence script, and anything longer requires an upgrade.

I also will freestyle the script based off of basic bullet points. for both videos there is no time limit, but rarely does a video ever need to go above 2 minutes.

people request that I wear shirt and tie, so I created upgrade for that as well.

I reinvested money into professional lighting which was really cheap on ebay, so now I have great lighting both day and night.

Oh and I also make sure to announce that I do unlimited retakes. This is also something else that improves conversions yet I rarely ever have to do.

I am now working on moving my gigs to my own site and hopefully become independent of fiverr, because they can get touchy if you break TOS.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Ok guys, great stuff here. I have also made some few dollar via fiverr in the past but recently i tried to resume it but seem not be getting any orders. I offer various kind of services that am good at. How are you guys getting orders? Do you drive traffic to your gigs or you just depend on natural search like me?

    • Congratulation and once we will have fiver 2 the new version coming up, hope we will be able to cash some more from the fiverr micro site.

      Kind regards,

  • Congrats dude, I am still on $8-$12 PM at fiverr
  • I used to make a lot of money getting people up to 1000 twitter followers within 24 hours because I had a list of instant follow backs but my account was shut down. It turned out some of the accounts were in different languages and I never checked. It was an automated process. That was way back when Fiverr was the hottest thing and not everyone knew about it. I was making $100 per day. But I lost all of the money when they shut my account down.

    • Ouch! that's the danger of depending on a 3rd party. Ebay was the same way.

on a positive note I just got a $15 sale ($12 after fiverrs cut) which will take me 5 minutes to complete when I get home.
  • I would be concerned about writing articles for Fiverr. Articles are subjective; too many clients expect a pro copywriter for $5 an hour; and Fiverr's rating system is biased toward buyer reviews. Sellers cannot respond to negative ratings if the customer doesn't want to change it.

The problem is, a customer could give a negative rating and pressure a refund. There are lots of black hat bloggers out there who look for any way possible to get free articles.

Fiverr really needs to protect its sellers, too. I still think a ratings comment system would be helpful. That way people can hear both sides of a story.

With writing - people are going to call good content bad, and bad content good. It's just inevitable.

    • I did fiver for a while but was only ,making $120 to $150 a month
  • Fiverr is a great place when starting out..
Remember, your Fiverr business should only start with the $5 sale... there is more money in leveraging that $5 sale above and beyond the $4 profit.

    Congrats....Keep up the great job.

I make money on fiverr by ranking videos for others, on YouTube and Google.

Please tell me more about your writing system.

    • Extra gigs section is the method to earn more money in fiverr.com. Do not provide put all your service in $5 only. Break them down.

Currently, I provide design service in Fiverr.com. I break down my service and buyer can have more options. I set the price and some buyer are willing to pay for it. Sometimes, design service that I charge is $30 per order and the buyer are happy to pay for it. Make your portfolio strong and people will come to your gig.

  • This is an inspiring thread. Never tried using Fiverr to sell my service. Might give it a try.
  • Also...don't discount the idea of other fiverr like task sites.

Currently, I'm messing around with TaskRabbit.com (Not Affiliated).

The site is a Google Venture backed service that I heard about from Tim Ferris.

A lot like Fiverr (IMO), but with a lot more opportunity to meet your local neighbors face to face.

Its not everywhere yet, but give it a look.

I'm working on a strategy that incorporates a few prolific task sites.

    Hope that was helpful.

  • Selling blogroll links is super easy money.
  • I imagine you drive traffic to fiverr sites the way you would to your other IM sites or products. At least that's how I do it anyway.
  • I recently started selling article writing, keyword research seo audits and video reviews on Fiverr and I'm addicted. I see a lot of potential with v2 and upsells.

I've actually made more money my first week at seoclerks though. I see huge potential with both sites though so I'm not sure yet where I should put most of my focus.
    • [1] reply
    • I haven't had many sales on seoclerks. Fiverr has been steady.

  • I showed my 13-year old how to make money on Fiverr by writing product reviews. He was looking for a way to buy a new mini bike and now he's hooked. He has a kindle app on his iphone and writes reviews for amazon books, iphone apps, etc. He pulls in over $500/month. His reviews are pretty good quality and because of that, he has also attracted product reviews. Yes, he actually has a regular amount of packages coming in so that he can write product reviews.

I have never tried working on Fiverr up to now, but I have visited the site and I like the new design and the way in which I can search gigs faster. Maybe I will start placing some gigs. Someday
  • Hi Jreed,

Good job! I used to make money on Fiverr writing and rewriting articles. It just became too time consuming for my schedule, but that's an easy way to make a part time income. People are always looking for unique affordable content. It's just more profitable, for me, to either pay for it (if you don't have the time), or write your own, and use it for your own websites and products.
    • [1] reply
    • Yeah I couldn't imagine writing articles. way too time consuming and thought extensive. It's hard enough to keep up with my blogs and other things.

Videos are much easier and also fun. Plus I get free stuff in the mail all the time
