I read a few horror stories recently about wordpress security and the need to get security plug-in etc. What's the deal and what the best security option?

Thanks for the information, is there a plug-in that you can use to help with this at all?

Its a good idea to update your plugins regularly as they often close those security holes, and keep backups of your site.

    Hello,

You might got it wrong...Yes you always need to think security, but it doesn't imply that you NEED security plugins.

Understand and identify what needs to be protected and only then get security plugins or other security related products or services.

    I agree with so11.

Security isn't about installing just 1 plugin and you're done.

If you have budget you can pay some companies to work for you, there are also some good online services for this.

Otherwise you can do some best practices (If you're confused I can tell you some of them but a search on google will probably do the same), have a good daily backup and still be happy
