Articles and how many per week/month

Hi Warriors:

Welcome to almost the weekend.

If you were writing original content and had the time how many articles per week do you find would be the range to submit to multiple sites?

What is a comfort zone of balancing quality content for Google (but not 1 zillion items), good information for the readers (but not taking over the article universe) and developing a good amount of views and clicks to something found in the author resource box.

Thanks as always.

I guess the answer would be different for everyone.

I find that I can write up to 3 or 4 articles in a sitting and have them be of high quality and I can also work pretty fast. When I am launching a site I will submit articles 1 to 2 per day in that niche. You won't want to go above that or it won't look like natural growth.

Right now I'm successfully running about 6 niche blogs and filling them with content.

      Hi Lin,

Wow, that's nice to hear. Just wan't to ask, can you give me a tip on what you do to write that fast.

With that speed, how are you able to put in quality?

      Thanks,

      Omar

Well for one thing, I tend to write on subjects that I already have extensive knowledge on. That means I only have to do minimal research. I've recently started writing for clients too, and have been somewhat lucky in that they have chosen subjects that are already familiar to me. The few that haven't were easily researched though.

A tip for writing quickly after you have your research done is writing out your article first without stopping to edit. I am very fast at typing, so that also helps. I can write the whole article out. Then I spend time doing the editing and slight rewrites. That part almost takes longer than the article!

When I was writing articles for a living, my daily goal was to get 3 a day...of course those were just being put on EzineArticles, nowhere else. I agree with Lindsay though, it is kind of hinging on what you're comfortable with putting out. Trying to pump out too many at once (which I have made the mistake of doing in the past) doesn't look very good in Google's eyes though.

Personally, I think 3 is a good solid number you can be safe with. Manageable pace, looks pretty natural, and if you're outsourcing your article writing it won't be too hard on your checkbook.

    Just my two cents.

I have to agree. It's about what you're comfortable with. In my experience a quality article always does better. A great article can bring you the same results that several mediocre ones can combined, at least for me. Others have said differently.

My advice is to just write as many as you are comfortable doing and track your results to find that happy medium.

I'm not a big article guy, but I have definitely found this to be true. Most of my clickthroughs have come from two articles out of the handful (ten or so) I've written.

      Hi:

Thanks for the info. As a writer/author/speaker you were perfect in the assessment of quality/quantity.

Would it be fair to state if you delivered 1 article per day 5 to 6 times a week (20 to 24 times a month total) it is not over saturation and you have the opportunity to gain readers to the website/blog?

If the fine Warriors agree I would be content with 1 article of quality per day to submit to various article sites.

      Thanks as always!

I submit 2 to 3 articles a week and haven't had any problems. My biggest problem is with the time it takes to submit even with software. I even tried a service from articlemarketer.com that supposedly submits to 800+ directories at a time with abysmal results. For more on this, see my post to a forum question just above yours from Jaylene on "Are you qualified...". Anyone found a good article submission service?

I write a lot of articles everyday (except for weekends lol)

But I don't have a set number. If you average it out I may probably write 8-10 articles every day. They are spread out across different niches though.

I use to go crazy and do around 15 articles per day...I have a super secret way to crank them out that fast... ;-)

But anyway now I do around 5 per day..not to bad.

One of my mentors does 600 per month....now thats a lot!

      Hi Omar:

      Great Yankee game Friday night.

That is interesting about 600 articles per month and I wonder if there would be a debate of Google rankings and overkill vs quality product being all over the article world that can be clicked on to buy something.

Even 5 per day if you have the energy level and content is superlative. The key is to not have it feel as if it is work or a homework assignment.

      Enjoy the weekend.

Im sure you are going to get a multitude of answers here for the questions posed.

In a perfect world, all of the articles I write and submit would be 100% unique. However, what I do is write 2 articles a week that are spun into about 15 unique versions that I submit to various directories using an article distributor. Then I will write 7 unique articles, 5 of which go to Ezine Articles and the other 2 are posted on my website.

I use this method for all of my sites.

    Best,

    Matt

      Hi Word Pro:

Hope all is well. Thanks for the post.

I wasn't looking at the picture strictly for search engine rankings (although that is a part), I was curious as to what the reader and sites being submitted to feel is the proper balance of content vs over-saturation.

From what fine people like yourself have told me on the forum and via email they don't believe if the quality remains strong 5 articles per week (about 20-22) per month would be a negative.

While often the brain is trained to think about rankings on Google, I also want to consider the best way to get people to click the link in the author resource box to end up buying a product.

      Have a fantastic day!

Writing a great article require a lots of concentration as well as efficiency. So I think writing 2-3 quality article will be enough for enjoying the day, cause 2-3 quality article will earn so much that 10-15 cant do.

How many to submit depends on quite a few variables. Main of which would be what else could you do with that time/money. For example, submitting 5 articles a day is better than submitting 1, no debate about it. But it also takes 5 times longer to do so (theoretically)

So the question becomes not which is better, but what is the best balance of articles+ other stuff, and that depends on you. Your ability to write quality articles as well as what those "other stuff" can do for your business. You may find that for you it's best to submit just 1 article a day and spend the rest of the time doing other things, or perhaps you'll find that articles trump anything else you can do, so dedicating most of your time to article writting produces the best results.

In conclussion: test, track results, adjust, then test again

        Hi J. Smith:

Excellent point. For me with all the promotion that goes on with the 2 books, new speaking/writing course, and lectures, 1 article per day 5 days a week is where I believe I would offer fine content and not feel it a job but a pleasure to create.

If I submit 20-22 per month and they are always original and not about self-promotion, my hope would be the author resource box would make enough people to click and go to the proper URL.

        Enjoy the weekend.

For my sites, I write 3-4 a week on the average. These are all original content.

For my clients, I produce 12-15 articles a week. I'm only doing this part-time. Had I've been full-time I probably could write more than 15 a week.

I have been doing more article marketing lately and find that each one I submit results in traffic, most from ezinearticles. So doing a few a day religiously would be a good regimen to follow. If you did 10-15 per day, keep a few for yourself and do a WSO with the extra. I don't think quality articles really have a limit if you can think of enough things to do with them.

      Hi Data Provider:

What you typed out is the question I am attempting to ascertain. That is balance of hoping for Google page rank, readership of articles on the sites, and people using the author resource box found at the end of the articles to click the URL.

      Thank you.

The more unique articles you can write/produce the better. What I found is being consistent with the number of articles you write so therefore if 2-3 articles a day is manageable than that is better than attempting to write 100 per day and become demotivated.

Quality is off course important rather than writing a whole bunch of articles that nobody understands or gets real value. Having said that my theory is as long as your article is "good" and gets the message across as opposed to getting only one article done a day. Winning the Best Writer Awards who took 1 month to write an article is not important to me. I rather have a bunch of good articles that can be written on a consistent basis and within a reasonable amount of time.

      Hi Webtoday:

Thanks for the post. I understand your point totally.

Weighing time, quality, and all parts of the puzzle for me 1 quality article a day 5 days a week seems to be the route to take. That is not to rule out there could be times where two are submitted. I would be satisfied to build a large amount of articles with quality content and then hope the clicks to the URL in the resource box will make it all worth while.

      Have a great day!
