Launching a website - any tips/suggestions

Howdy!

Trying to get my website off the ground. It is a user submitted site for auctioneers looking to market upcoming auctions with restaurant equipment.

I've already sent out numerous emails to auctioneers and there are some auctioneers already using the free service.

I want to keep the momentum.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

The website is RestaurantAuctionsList.com: Restaurant Equipment Auctions – Online and Live Auction Schedules for Used Restaurant Equipment

Get out from behind the comfort of your desk and go meet people in the industry face to face.

Sitting there with a Facebook page hoping that someone clicks on "like", isn't going to put money in your pocket.

I really have to agree with John here.

You may join some forum communities too which are relevant to your niche/market.

Solo ads are great but you have to make a squeeze page website and offer that makes more money than you spend on solo ads. Then you have to learn email marketing. There are a million ways to promote websites, start adding content and building some links to it so you gain some search engine rankings.

Look for other websites in your niche and request them to give their audience a mention of your tool and what it offers them. Most of the time this works pretty well.

Hey guys, thanks for all the responses.

So far I have had the best results from direct email marketing from a gmail account using customized emails to the recipients.

Other than joining relevant forums and contributing useful information, how does one get back links?

Are article submissions still effective in today's seo?
