Poor WSO's - what to do about them?

Can anyone shed light on what to do? We have purchased over $2,000 of WSO's with the majority not working! The last 3 purchased with OTO's have all failed and support has been requested, currently at 2 day wait! WTF?

Are we being unreasonable, that a WSO should be fit for purpose BEFORE it is launched? Or are we being unreasonable?

It seems as though WSO's are thrown up and then support is provided to get a product that is fit to market then the seller puts it on Clickbank - WF is being used as a testing platform and if that is the case surely we should be told this!

End of rant...

"Stop buying WSOs" seems like a good start.

Then maybe you could figure out how, exactly, you have spent $2,000 on stuff that doesn't work in a forum where pretty much everything is under $20. Have you really bought a hundred WSOs and none of them worked?

Around 10% work, some work partially some don't work at all...I have now stopped buying WSOs.

The last 3, is as follows:

Support for 1 said they do not offer support to resolve the issue I am experiencing, the product was to load a csv file with emails and urls and the software puts them into a presentation, put 99 prospects in file and list created 127! WTF!!!!!!

Support 2 told me that their social poster plugin has issues with plurk, pintertest, facebook, the problem I have is with twitter - they tell me to deactivate all plugins to find the plugin that is causing the problem I have and still nothing.

Support 3, got resolved yesterday, now the software works.

    Hi Dexter,

You could create an AWESOME product yourself!

One that YOU would expect to receive after you just
    purchased one.

That's the way to get a HUGE following of buyers who
respect you & are willing to listen to your opinions
    and recommendations as a marketer.

Don't let these half baked WSO's get you down.

Use what you know, get angry and fill the gap that has
been left and fill it with your own FULL BLOWN NO
    HOLDS BARS AWESOME WSO!

You have a huge opportunity here if you think so many
WSO's are not fulfilling your needs/others needs.

Hope you take action & get cracking right away!

    All the best

Yes: nobody should ever buy $2,000-worth of WSO's of the type that you're clearly talking about, teaching "money-making methods".

A very good rule of thumb (here and elsewhere) is "never buy any product whose sales copy includes an income claim".

$2000 is a lot to be spending on WSO's. This places you in the 'opportunity seeker' category meaning you are someone who keeps looking for new opportunities and magic bullets and when they come along you jump to the next one. Product vendors dream of people like you -- you are their target audience because they can sell products to you over and over again. This is not their problem though, it's yours. You are the only one that can snap out of it.

You will never succeed in this fashion. No one ever has and no one ever will.

I have bought a lot of WSO's over the years but they have only ever been things I have needed. I don't go window shopping for the hell of it. You should only be buying WSO's (or any products for that matter) that serve to take you to the next level in your business. You should already have a plan in place as to where you want to go and what business you are going to be in. Don't go looking for WSO's or tools unless you get to a point in your current plans where you need a tool or product to help you get to that next step.

The very fact you have spent $2,000 on WSO's should tell you a lot. There are only two people in all WSO transactions. The vendor and the customer. You are a customer and have spent $2000. That means certain product vendors now have that $2,000. So which side of that equation do you want to be on? The person spending $2,000 or the person making $2,000?

So you have just proven to yourself (albeit an expensive lesson) that there is one business model that works and works well. Product creation. But that's not to say all WSO's or products are crap. It's far from the truth. There are a lot of great products out there but sadly people blame the lack of success of a product on the vendor when in fact it more often than not comes down to the lack of implementation of the person who purchased that product.

I've sold thousands of units of courses. I've had a small group of people make a killing with those courses. I have had the large majority of people probably never do anything with the course or just give it a half assed attempt and thus made no money. Does that mean my course is crap and does not work? No. It means the majority of people out there are lazy and not willing to take responsibility for their own success.

I could give the EXACT same WSO to 100 people and each and every one of them would get different results. Some would make a lot of money, some would make a bit, and the majority would make nothing. That just goes to show you the success or failure of a WSO is rarely dependent on the WSO itself -- it's dependent on you.

You know the saying. Only a bad workmen blames his tools. Never was that statement more true than in this industry. Too many people expect success to be spoon fed to them and are not willing to pull their finger out and do the hard work that is required. Unless you turn around and give things a real shot you will never be able to succeed. Sorry, it's just the reality. Take it from someone who has been there before.

I think I have only ever asked for 1 or 2 refunds out of a heap of WSO purchases over the years. That's because I don't fall for the hype. If you keep buying products based on outlandish promises then what do you really expect? If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. So start buying with your head and not as an opportunity seeker just looking for the next magic bullet... because they do not exist.

WSOs may not work for everyone. It depends on what you are doing and what you are good at. Some people might be good at making good money with a CPA program, but others may struggle to even get an account approved. I've seen many people on warriorforum itself not being able to get an adsense account approved. It happens.

If you already have $2000 worth of WSOs, go through them and figure out what works best for you. Nothing will work out of the blue. And not everyone will have the same results (or else there would be only one single trick in marketing and everyone would be millionaires or better).

If you are still reading this thread, go through whatever WSOs you have, pick up the ones you find comfortable working with, and use it to earn your money back.

    1. STOP buying big claim BSO's.

    2. Look in the mirror and find your strengths.

    3. Choose a business model that allows you to play to
    your strengths.

    4. Identify what you ALREADY know and apply that.

    5. If necessary, identify mission-critical gaps in your
knowledge and only purchase information that relates
    to your current business objectives.

    6. Avoid the majority of WSO's as they are hyped-up
BS that promise high returns for little effort. (They do
NOT work in the real world, i.e. on planet Earth).

    7. Get real and get to work on YOUR business objectives
    in your chosen business model.

    8. Ignore all other distractions.

Let me think. They were probably something similar to this:

"Make millions a day? Get this WSO NOW, or it's too late"

    or maybe..

"Sick and tired of living in your moms basement? Grab this WSO and turn your life into living dream! $343,123.34 - A DAY - live proof inside!"

My advice: If the WSO is mega hyped, don't bother yourself. Instead put your money and effort in WSO that look more professional. Use your common sense, do some background check etc..

I believe that mast vajorty of WSO's are scraped through PLRs and provide very little or no value.

You are one of those who expect that world to hand you a living on a plate. It doesn't work like that - online or offline.

Enrolling on a course in medicine doesn't guarantee you a job as a doctor. You have to work hard and have an aptitude for the subject. Some fail.

Enrolling on a course as a plumber doesn't guarantee you will become a plumber. Again, you need to work hard and have an aptitude for the subject.

Do you get where I'm coming from? There is NO SUCH THING as a guaranteed way to make money online. You have to work out what YOU are good at and take it from there.

Spending that much on WSO's just tells me you aren't prepared to take responsibility for your own life and acknowledge your own strengths and weaknesses. No-one can do it for you - online or offline.

Stop buying them and understand why they are selling for $8, its not because they are feeling generous or anything, its because they are worth $8. And without any doubt 99% of wso are crap. Stop buying them and start working instead.

This is exactly what I am talking about.

People would much rather pass the blame and say 99% of products are crap than pull their finger out and do the work. It's much easier to blame your lack of success on everything else besides yourself, right?

Are there crap products out there? Yes. Are they the majority? I don't necessarily think so, definitely not 99% of products. That's just a huge generalization and as someone who works hard to create good products that help people, yes, I do take offense to silly comments like that.

The only way you could know for sure that 99% of WSO's are crap is if you have purchased a whole lot of them. If you still think 99% of WSO's are crap then it's more than likely an issue with your buying decisions in that you are an opportunity seeker that buys all the silly products claiming to turn you into a millionaire overnight.

Here is the bottom line. The reality is if you are not succeeding online right now the ONLY person to blame for that is YOU. Only you. Absolutely nothing else is to blame for your failures. The sooner people realize that and take responsibility for their success, the faster they will succeed. But those who continue to walk around and think the whole world is against them will never ever succeed online.

If that is your attitude then you may as well go back and get a day job and keep working for 'the man' -- seriously. Cos this ain't ever going to happen for you.

However, since 99% of everything is crap, it's still a pretty safe bet.

See, it works like this: in any given group of stuff, there is a top 1% of it that works better than all the others for any given set of criteria.

        The other 99% are crap.

Change the criteria, and hey presto you have a brand new 1% that work better than the 99% crap.

Everybody wants the top 1% every time.

The problem is largely that they keep changing the criteria. They get a product that is crap, and they consider why it is crap, and that forms their new criteria. They don't know what a good product looks like, only what a bad one looks like.

When I first got into this business, I didn't know CPA was a bad fit for my desired business model. I bought a lot of CPA products. I spent hundreds of dollars just on CPA stuff. I spent months building CPA-based systems.

And it took me about a year to connect the dots and say "wait a minute - CPA is never going to be part of my 1%."

But before I could do that, I had to make my list of what I didn't like about CPA. I didn't like scams. I didn't like tricks. I didn't like curated links behind content lockers. And to make that list, I had to buy a lot of CPA products and explain - at least to myself - why they were in the 99% of products that suck.

Ultimately, chances are you never buy any of the 1% products. Instead, you piece together what would be a 1% product out of the bottom 99% you're buying. And then you make your own product, either for your own use or for sale.

Which is only part of the 1% for someone that has the same criteria you do. To everyone else, it's still in that 99% crap.

My advice seeing as you asked...

    Don't buy ANYTHING.

I am telling you or at least I am 99% sure that you will not find a magic bullet with a WSO.

Building a profitable business takes time and hard work - at least a sustainable one does.

EVERYTHING you need is on the forum - pick an area - read up on the area by conducting a search and take action on a method, rinse and repeat if no success and at the very least make sure when you buy a WSO it is focused on helping you with your chose area.

    Good luck!

I think the #1 reason for excess purchases is that most people new to the IM game have no plan. Many are conditioned to believe all the hype. Success and becoming rich motivates people.

No doubt there are good marketers here on the Warrior forum. They can sell to people like yourself all day long. Until you have goals and a plan to reach your goals, your likely to keep doing the same.

Take some time to figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it. A goal with a plan will keep you from running in circles.

Many WSO's can be beneficial to a part or piece of your business model, but are never the whole answer to a overall business model.

It's folly to expect to buy a wordpress plugin, or guaranteed rankings system, or any other claim and have them actually work.

I buy a lot of WSO's they help keep me in the loop. Probably 30 over the past year. The number I use, how about zero. Don't buy from product developers buy from people who actually go out and work for a living.

I try really hard to filter out dreamers, the lazy, and the plain ass dumb. In my (humble opinion) it is always suspect when you are asked to pay for something without having had an opportunity to try it out first.

One major beef I have with the Warrior Forum is that it is virtually impossible to leave a review when you buy something that turns out to be total crap. I don't regret a single penny I have spent it reinforces that I am on the right track, I call that paying for an education.

I did find a great Facebook product here, but Facebook shut it down within a week! It was offered by one of the most successful Warriors on here. And no I am not going to reveal his name. Expect they didn't offer refunds as they should automatically have done, instead they gave away more crap products.

To sum it all up. Ask these "6 week cycle product developers" if they use it in the field. I'm not going to pay someone in Hong Kong anything to tell me how to sell Mobile in the USA. All the slick videos, powerpoint presentations, and infographs in the world are not going to help you close a client if you don't what the "F" you are talking about when you are across the table from a potential client.

        This may be your problem.

Homo Logicus is generally uncomfortable with fuzziness.

        Marketing is all fuzziness.

At some point, you are going to have to "hack the brain." It can be done - we're just machines made of meat, and social engineering is well-established as a working methodology - but it's a squishy sort of subject that takes a lot more work than figuring out thread safety, and you know how many programmers absolutely suck at that.

In my experience, programmers who turn to marketing expect the process to work mechanically, which it does - at a certain threshold of size. But they commit the fallacy of division and expect that because people will do a thing, therefore a person will do a thing, and that is not even remotely true.

Think back to your big-O notation. A standard comb sort has an average performance of O(n log n), which you will see across a sufficiently large corpus of data. But the best-case performance is O(n) and the worst case is O(n^2) - in fact, if your shrink factor is too large for a given dataset the sort does not work at all.

Now imagine that you wanted to sell comb sort. By using a selected series of nonrandom datasets, you could demonstrate a performance much better than O(n log n). You would certainly not demonstrate anything closer to worst-case than to average, so your examples would provide data indicating performance somewhere between O(n) and O(n log n).

And that would still be honest.

It's not going to pass peer review, and it's not going to withstand rigorous testing, and the results will not be reproducible or verifiable in a blind study. But in marketing, nobody cares about those things. They only care whether they get the money.

Basically, to succeed in marketing, you're first going to have to understand that there are two kinds of people: those who can interpolate from incomplete data.

I've bought quite a lot of WSOs in my time and while I won't try to pretend that they are all perfect, the majority have something useful to teach. The trick, though, is that you have to do some work - either to implement what is being taught, or to think about it so that you can incorporate the ideas into your business.

It sounds like you are not prepared or able to do either of those things. Spending on the next shiny promise is far more likely to make you succeed, isn't it?

You sound like the kind of person who goes into a casino and buys a wad of tokens and then complains that you haven't won anything - conveniently forgetting that you have to feed the tokens into a machine first.

It's always better to research 1 or 2 IM methods first for free, across recommended forum threads and other free sources on the web, then order a WSO on the subject that claims to offer a twist or solution to a problem with the method.

You can buy a WSO that gives you an A-Z overview on a topic, but most of the time that is info you could have gotten from a diligent use of a forum search button. The bigger issue with WSO's is many people rely on them too much to take them from zero to rolling in the dough. In fact, they should only be used as enhancements to active IM learning and implementation you are already in the middle of.

Well, first of all, STOP BUYING. Seriously, that's lot to spend on WSOs that hardly ever exceed $17 in price.

I buy them too, and I'm not saying every WSO here works according to their claim. People hardly ever make as much as the seller claims he did with the method.

But, you can definitely make something with them, if you actually stuck to the method long enough.

Another thing you should know is that these methods are being bought by hundreds of other people too, so don't expect to just copy paste everything and have it work. You need to twist the method and create your own recipe in order to make money with it.

The seller would most likely not sell you their secret twist, and even if they did, again, it's going to get saturated because a lot of their buyers are trying it at the same time.

So, my advice to you is, stop buying any more WSOs. Read the ones you already have and select a method that you like.

Then, try to think of a twist to the same method. For example, if the method suggests using facebook for traffic, and you find that facebook is too saturated, then see what else you can find. Can you implement the same method in another less known social network where the competition is less? If so, then do that, because, most probably, these new sites won't have strict rules like the big players, and you can start making money almost faster.

I hope you get what I'm trying to tell you. This doesn't apply to traffic alone. You can do the same for almost everything. Just let your creative juices flow and you'll be amazed at your results.

What should you do? Stop being a sucker and buying everything someone tries to sell you. If you don't need it then don't buy it. Buy products when you have a problem that needs solving and it fits the solution.

WSOs are just information (usually) and what you do with that information will determine whether it works or not. It might work for me but if you try it then it might not because you've no focus and after a week you stop trying and move onto something new because 'it doesn't work' when in fact it probably does you're just rubbish at it.

Time to get a grip and stop being a sucker.

Do you always do the same thing over and over expecting different results? Obviously, there's something majorly wrong with your purchasing decisions, which you alone are entirely responsible for.

I've probably spent $2K also on WSOs over long period of time and have only been disappointed a couple of times. I know what I'm buying, the seller has a reputation in the forum and I also know what I want and need for my own businesses.

I don't buy from blind copy and I don't buy magic bullet get rich quick schemes or how to make a butt-load of money really fast and really easy with no skills and in your pajamas no less.

So, whatever it is you're buying ... stop doing that if it's not working out.

How much effort have you put into following through with what each WSO taught you?

I may be wrong but I think what the OP was saying was - he had bought several WSOs which offered software that did not work and that the support was less than impressive, and was making the point that his experience was that the sellers were not adequately testing their product before putting it up for sale.

I believe that's a rational consideration and I can believe that his general experience probably supports that the software was not properly tested.

Why people are focusing on the amount of money he's spent and calling him names based on assumptions about his actions/lack of them I'm not sure.

The question and frustration seems perfectly valid.

Probably because he made the amount the issue and said "the majority" is not working, when in fact, he seems quite happy with the majority of his purchases, at least on the WF. I can find two so far where he wants a refund but doesn't seem to be getting it.

All I can say is if you want to use Youtube buy this product! The product rocks and so does the support!

        Way to go Ray.
        Man,

The easiest mobile squeeze page software is WillR's, it is so easy it has made me over $2K in the first day! Please note I am not affiliated with WillR, I just love using his software because it works!
WillR's done it again! Amazing easy to use but highly effective solution. Used it and within 24 hours had 4 new clients at $697 each!
cairnstarheel, I purchased the emailer that goes with it and they tell you how to send over 1000 emails per day WITHOUT spamming! Pretty cool.
        ronr,

I disagree with that 100%! I put a support issue in (problem was with my setup!) and they responded within 4 hours - their support I cannot fault. The product I purchased WAS NOT advertised on wso - my mistake.
We use Mobile Renegade, by Ken Michaels - works perfectly unlike my colleague Graham who couldn't work it correctly! But now it is so sweet...
I have been using 2 tools, Mobile Renegade (AWESOME! it also tells you if mobile or not) and a paid search on a credit reporting site this gives me the owners full name and email address this covers small businesses all over the world and at $899 per year for 3000 searches isn't cheap but is certainly worth it.
We got over $1500 of WSO's from here and several other forums, can't remember them all.
        We use WillRs stuff alot.
[Had an issue with registration server that was fairly promptly solved]
I have been out of action for 2 days now! This is costing us money....Ken Skyped me letting me know there was a problem with the registration server yesterday morning, but 24 hours on and we are still in the same situation.
        [Same product]
Anyone sitting on the fence, DON'T just sit there - buy it! It is certainly worth it and our ONLY method of finding leads!
Yes, I second Mobile renegade, had a problem with it, (it was me!) Works like a dream.
If you are after some software to do this WillR's WSO minute mobile mock up is awesome you have the facility to compare mobile website to desktop site on a mobile, PM me if you want to see a sample (I am choosy who I share with...)
WillR has some awesome products and fantastic support if you need it!
In the last week I have sold these coupons to 11 clients, all see and try the coupon on their mobiles (cause this is what I am selling - mobile solutions) BEFORE they commit, if they do not like them they do not buy but they do and these clients have refereed me to their friends in business and I have a warm list of 55 people to contact next week.

Initially with the software there was some bugs, but all sorted now - they even have a solution after the coupon has been scratched to redirect to another webpage can be anything including Facebook. Hum, just thought of another idea....

[Clearly got support and questions answered]
Just give me a refund as you have failed to provide the product, I cannot gain access to download and your support sucks....

I have disputed the payment with paypal - as you have not responded to my support ticket in the last 24 hours. Do you REALLY CARE?

        Response from seller
        Hi,

What seems to be the problem?

Generally all support tickets are answered within 24 hours - you sent your support ticket in yesterday at 11.01am. We then responded 8 hours later at 19.58pm, you responded 4 hours later at 23.52 (when myself and Jamie would ave been asleep).

I just woke up at 9am - and an answering your ticket.

If you think that is unreasonable, let me know and I will arrange your refund. If you would still like access to the product I can arrange that also.

What would you like me to do?

I will post this in the thread also, as you have.

[Wants refund and doesn't sound like he got it]
Still no refund and I have conformed to all their requests providing detailed information why I want a refund, however their insistence backwards and forwards of "support emails" are nothing more than delay tactics in providing a refund! Did your support staff ever work for Sky retention department? They also provide crap support!

Do your stand by their own 100% satisfaction guarantee ? Up to now NO! I have requested a refund 72 hours ago....NOT GOOD.
[Seller disappeared after selling software- no support]
I submitted several support tickets and no one over 4 months got back to me, they left me with software that was not fit for purpose!

The sites created with the software have very low W3 for mobile, my existing WP site was higher! So I purchased a warriors product Jump Mobi - glad I did it is AWESOME.

Odd, that after nearly 5 months of silence we all receive an update for the software then within 2 days, we are blasted with WSO offers through Irene's link! Needless to say, I unsubscribed.
@OP: If a seller has a refund policy stated and doesn't give you a refund, just hit the report button (little red triangle) on the WSO post or contact the Help Desk for WF and tell them. They most likely won't be selling that product for very long.

I'm not saying there were no issues with post, I saw them too, and his generalisation - just wondered why when he had a perfectly valid concern, that the flaws in the way he posted about it were what everyone jumped on, rather than ignore his generalisations and respond to his fundamental issue - that sellers of software don't seem to test their software properly, supporting them poorly is a different but related issue.

That hasn't been my experience and it doesn't seem to be his experience either. I've bought maybe 3 pieces of software that flat out didn't work, but in relation to how much software I've bought overall, that is a small number.

He also seems to love most of what he has bought and had only a couple of problems which could have been resolved or at least the sellers could have been stopped from selling if he'd used the report button or Help Desk.

    First, YES, stop buying.

You probably have enough material and it's time to roll up the sleeves and start testing, learning, failing, and repeating the process

WSOs and products aren't make money systems as much as they are guides.

I love products and buy them all the time. If I'm entering a new traffic source or niche, I'll gladly put down a few hundred or thousands of dollars and sift through the products to get a hint or tip here and there. The goal isn't for the product to make me money, but rather for the product to help shorten my learning curve.

Products shorten learning curves, they don't eliminate them.

With that said, there are some absolutely terrible products out there in all marketers and niches. Unfortunately that's the way it is but for me, that's part of the investment process.

The main thing to realize is that nearly every successful entrepreneur purchases products but every one of them built their rags to riches dream 98% of their own. They took an idea or concept or direction from the products and then jumped in the fire and learned how to make it work themselves. They failed and failed and kept going.

So I guess I'm saying that if you aggregate everything you bought, I bet you have enough "ammo" to get going. Now it's time to sift through everything, coem up with a general strategy, and then jump in and start grinding away and learning by doing!

Of course this is all being said without knowing exactly which products you've purchased. Perhaps they are all garbage...but there are many great ones out there...but again, even the great ones should be a base of knowledge to get you going more than an actual blank check where you just need to fill out the number and your name and cash it.

Wishin you luck buddy. You've invested enough in products...now it's time to grind away.

Hope to see you in the winners circle!

    Andy,

I'm not sure I'm reading the same OP as you. He is saying that he has spent over $2000 on WSOs, which by anyone's standard is a lot of products. He then quotes three recent purchases as having problems and suggest that the majority of WSOs are therefore at fault.

That's a logical leap too far.

Only THEN does he ask the perfectly reasonable question about whether WSO products should be complete before launch. To that I am sure we can all answer in the affirmative.

But the initial premise that the majority of his $2000+ purchases are not fit for purpose because three recent buys have not been is unsubstantiated.

I know that you are all for playing nice, but I can't stop myself thinking that anyone who spends out on that many WSOs that are no good is no longer chasing a dream - they are pursuing a nightmare, or are incapable of following simple instructions. Either way they are idiots.
