what is up with the search feature on this forum?

Okay, I really love this forum and appreciate the value it provides, so I don't want to be too much of a hater, but what is up with the search feature? Newbies sometimes get a lot of flack for not searching the forums before posting a question, but honestly many times when I search for something my results cover every subject under the sun and may or may not include the subject I'm interested in. Not only that, but sometimes even if my keywords are the exact title of a post it does not show up. I know I don't understand the technology used for this feature, but it seems like it could somehow be more efficient.

    This is more an issue with vBulletin software. One other thing you might try is a google site search.

    Yeah, that is pretty much what I do, but often the results are pretty old and I want to be sure I'm getting the most up-to-date info. No worries--just whining a little and seeing if I'm the only one with qualms about this...
