How Would You Bring 500 Daily Visitors To This Website?

26 replies
Hello everyone, I have a Forex website (link in my signature) and I've been mantaining it for a while now. My problem is that I can't make it fly with the amount of traffic I wish.

I need an ideas rain.

In short, I need 500 daily visitors to this site.

What or how would you do it?

Thanks

      Copied from a post I made to another webmaster in your spot:

      You are probably way ahead of many new marketers in terms of actually getting something done, and agreed above that you do have a good start - BUT ... you are still likely to get NO sales (or very few) as is.

      Of all the marketing tactics (guru products) available these days, I do find there is somewhat of an overload on websites just like yours. Its just not going to happen (big) unless there is something "special" about your website.

      Firstly, you need to build a list with your website but in doing so, you also need to give visitors a REAL reason to join. This can most easily be achieved by giving something of REAL VALUE away.

      You need a report, white paper - or my favorite tactic - a Video(s) that solves an immediate problem that your visitor is likely to have. If your offer is good enough, and you actually deliver something of value, you have the makings of a website that will build it's own "life".

      From there, you can add more content, send out related offers, have spin-off websites and basically build yourself into a realistic authority on the subject. When you get to this point, your own subscribers will be recommending you to others, and with some hard work, investment and dedication it can turn into your full time business.

      Its one thing to set up a website, its quite another to really, I mean really get in there and find out what your visitors are thinking and feeling -
      what is their problem? You can always look at tactics as noted in these other responses and they are all viable, but the most profitable, long term strategy is the be the GO-TO website/man in your niche and have the ANSWERS.

        For starters optimize your site.

        You don't have permalinks setup, so all your pages and posts are in ID# format, that's costing you traffic.

        Add the All In One SEO pack plugin and start using titles and meta tags, add the Google XML Sitemap plugin.

        Start writing more compelling headlines..

    Join groups who will become loyal readers and not just visitors who come and go. Those are the most important to obtain and it takes time and effort to slowly obtain.

    Since submitting articles to directories has been your main source of traffic, write and submit even more articles. Also since you many want to build some back links to the current articles you have at Ezines, it will help improve the article overall position in Google, and hence get you some more traffic.

      1. You need to do some in-depth keyword research to find some low-hanging fruit keywords - say three keywords or phrases with decent traffic but low competition;
      2. Use these keywords as anchor text in a protracted link-building exercise. Aim to build 3 - 5 inbound links every day;
      3. Optimize your blog - use these anchor text keywords as post and widget headers. Use permalinks and categories to make your posts SE friendly. Get a good ping list;
      4. Simplify the design of your blog. It's a bit of a mess with links all over the place :confused: If you did get 500 visitors they would be confused as to what you were selling;
      5. Keep on posting high quality, useful, original content - stuff that no-one else is saying but that forex traders would find fascinating.
      Good luck!

    PPC is the fastest traffic out there, I think, if you don't have a list/Twitter account established...

    And it's awesome to test out ideas.

    I like articles for long-term traffic, because they're both awesome to add to your site for content (higher search engine rankings - I never get penalized for having duplicate content), but they give you the articles for the directories...

    And buying targeted traffic is generally pretty awesome (banners from other sites, etc.)

    I also got these great ideas from Justin Michie:

    If you make any money from your website, you should re-invest every penny into new articles, seo-services, etc. Do not stop doing this untill you are past your 500 visitors a day goal.

      I'm saying that you certainly don't need to pay $10 per click. You can get by with a lot less than that.

    Personally I would redo your site. It is a bit lame, might be OK for people who know what it is all about, which I don't. The color scheme is boring and sets the tone. I think a lot of people would simply turn away rather then spend time reading it.

    I would also increase the size of the font. I get turned off by small font and it doesn't cost anymore to make the words readable. If you have something to say then say it with authority. That's my 2 cents worth.

    God bless

        Robery Puddy recently posted a great reply in Andy Henry's traffic thread in relation to your question. He said that you need to know your conversion rates and the amount it brings in first. If you know you convert 1 in 10 visitors into buyers @ $100 then spending $10 a click via PPC isn't going to work for short term profit (unless you're building a front end list). If however you know that 1 in 5 buyers purchase at $100 then you can double your return on investment.
        Obviously there's many other ways to market your site other than ppc but if you work backwords from your conversion rate then you know how much to invest to be profitable.

          Also you can try "tell a friend"script which offered by Norman Freeman combined with Robert Plank's action pop up.
          So when your visitor want to leave your site,the pop up will appear and offer a "Tell a Friend Reward Program" and click some link and bring them to the new page that mentioned about the program.
          Say in that page a reward like
          -if you tell 10 friends of your,you will get ...
          -20 friends you will get....
          etc

          Surely, you don't have to use the scripts that I mentioned above.

          Sorry so technically, but i hope you will get some idea from it

    short answer: content/article marketing... but that is quite a big jump (20 visitors to 500 daily), try doubling it first like suggested above.
