Where can I advertise online?

Hey guys,

So I think I've settled on getting started with affiliate programs for goods and services people want to buy.

My plan is to become an affiliate for sites people use to buy their niche products or services and pull commissions from that.

My strategy is to build banner and other clickable ads and distribute them around on sites that target the kind of audience most likely to be interested in them. That means I'll have to pay for the advertising space though, but I think I'm okay with that.

The problem I'm having is finding who to affiliate with and where to advertise for them. I don't want to sell clickbank and ebook products. I think Amazon would be a much safer bet. But without having a blog that people visit, where could I find places to put up ads?

    Hi
You can do two things. Set up your own website without daily blogging. You can embed banners and sometimes put some good information. I strongly advise you to use auto reply systems if you join affiliation programs like Empower Network or Academy of Online Success. Two good auto reponders are Aweber and GetResponse. With these you can create newsletters and design it and send them to your list.
Important is you got traffic to your site so a good way is to advertise FREE by HootSuite to several Facebook groups.

I can tell you from a lot of experience that banner advertising to sell products for affiliate commissions is a very long and hard road. Often it will be a losing deal with you spending more on the banner ads than you are getting commissions from your affiliate program.

The people that have success often get there from split testing loads of different combinations of sales funnels until they find one that is profitable and then scale it up.

For example: Once they click on the banner ad does it go straight to the amazon product where they can buy the product but the customer is lost forever or do you send them to your own landing page and go for the email before the sale?

If you want to make money with amazon the secret it to look for the most expensive products available, then amongst those find that have the least competition then build a website based around reviewing products in this category.

Build video how2's and post them on youtube and embed them i your site. It helps if you happen to have a knowledge of the product or actually own it yourself. I'm working on one at the moment - it's not the most expensive products, but I happen to know about them and it's a low competition niche. I only started building it this morning - How To Clean Windows

You can see from all the internal linking the keywords I'm trying to rank for and because I have written thousands of words of original content it will rank well. Good on-page SEO is forever. Make sure you maximise every element on the page to boost your SEO efforts - every "alt" tag, every "title" and tailer the names of your images, categories, tags and post titles to suck in traffic.

If the competition for you niche is low enough it's quite easy to start ranking for your keywords after a bit of cheap backlinking and social booking marking.
