Have a "no refund" policy?

Or just stack tons of value on it.

Or both.

If you have a refund policy, then you will ALWAYS get refunds.

You'll get less refunds if you tremendously increase the value you provide.

You COULD try not offering a refund, but it's a good idea to test what happens when you don't vs when you do. The original idea was that offering a no-questions-asked refund increases sales to the extent where it more than compensates for any refunds you may get. But I suppose this depends on your market and sales message, so it's best to test.

I also find that I get FAR fewer refund requests with getdpd.com vs Clickbank. Perhaps it's to do with the way the product is delivered, I don't know, it's just an observation.

It doesn't matter how valuable your product is, some people are going to try to cheap asses no matter what you do, it's how it is on the internet.

If you do it through PayPal, you pretty much win.

If it's a virtual product, all you have to do is call them up, tell them the product was delivered and that you have a no refund policy, and you win.

If you have a physical product, all you have to do is call them and upload proof that the product was shipped and that you have a no refund policy.

The only thing you won't be able to fight are the pricks who put in refunds/disputes with their credit card companies. PayPal will fight on your behalf but credit card companies could give a rats ass who's in the wrong and who is right. They will settle with the card holder each and every time.

You're going to run into worthless scumbag no matter what you sell or how great your product is, some people are just.. well.. scumbags. However, I would do it through PayPal and protect yourself.

It also depends on the market you're selling to as well. The reason that the "make money online" niche has such a high dispute/refund rate is because of foreign credit card fraud and the amount of disputes that they'll open.

I sold a product some time ago on DP, and I'd have people asking for a refund/trying to dispute the transaction as item not received the second they ordered it. It's just how some people are man... but thankfully PayPal protects sellers like that, especially if you're Native English.

Add MASSIVE VALUE but don't add any FLUFF & any
unnecessary additions just to make your product look better.

Put your best foot forward, make a product that YOU would
BUY if you were a potential customer.

I have heard the best way to do this is to follow up with the customer. Help them digest your content. Maybe set up an aweber campaign that walks them through the audio every other day or so "check in" automatically of course and explain where they should be at this point and the benefits each particular portion contains for the listener. I think it was the Piranha Marketing guy I heard that from for reference.

Have a darn good product

Somehow deliver the product and/or bonuses over a length of time. By extending the product, this will naturally lower the refund rate (almost always)

Use an affiliate manager that does not by default give everyone a refund who wants one. You're going to have about 25% of the people who buy the product ask for a refund just because they know they can.

1) Make it really good

2) Offer bonuses

3) Offer a 12-month money back guarantee

4) Test price

No matter how best your product is, free bi seekers will always knock your door for refunds.
Have a No Refund policy is the best option if you are confident about your product.

Provide some really good value. Don't hesitate to spend extra time on it and offer as much as you can. Make that product literally "UNREFUNDABLE"! You may get the odd moaner but in reality, when people are pleased with a product, they don't go through the hassle of asking for a refund.

Take advantage of your competition. Check out the refund rates of some of the products in your category either in CB or else and try to find out why. Offer incentives, extras, freebies etc.

I hope this help. Don't get worried if you get a couple of refunds....Some people are picky, others just take advantage. Also, if you were to get refunds, you should start asking yourself why?

Don't plan on refunds coz half of the sales will be lost coz of pirates.

How do you know that HALF the sales will be lost due to pirates? Sure, there will be people who share your product on Blackhat oriented sites and free download sites but have you ever been to those places?

No one there speaks 3 words of English, has a dollar to their name and are the serial refund type I was talking about earlier. I'd rather not have them as customers or on a list, but that's just me.. it's better to not deal with those people.

You'll only have a fraudulent refund request issue if you market it to MMO forums, "solo ad" lists, "joint venture" communities, etc. That's the only place the habitual "I'll buy anything with a convincing sales letter then demand a refund" people hang out. The rest of the world of ecommerce doesn't have an issue with abnormal refund request rates; I've been selling online for over a decade and it's never been a problem. My parents run an online health food store and have never had a refund request.
