Ok, need some help regarding my Google ranking.

Some days my website will rank on page 3 of Google and other days I can't even find it in the first 20 pages.

This is probably a silly question, but why would this happen?

I am typing in the same search terms each day to compare rankings and it seems to have fallen off the radar when I created a bing xml sitemap, could this affect my website's ranking in anyway e.g. by writing over or superceding the google xml sitemap?

Thanks Warriors :-)

That's not a stupid question. That is normal, especially when your site is new. We call it the "Google dance." Plus, it's become harder to tell exactly where you rank these days, especially if you are logged into your Google account when you do it. You could use Google's webmaster tools if you wanted to get an idea. I don't really pay attention to where I rank as long as I'm getting traffic and making sales. I just focus on quality content and updating regularly and let the search engines do what they will.
