First thing i would advise is to change your title.
Your title is like a call to action for scammers, your inbox is going to fill up faster
than Best Buy on black Friday...

At least you have an idea of what you want, just start building on it.
The beautiful side is that you have enough money to work on that.Look for experts to advise further on the same.
I like your spirit of wanting to independent rather being dependent on you parents.

    hmmm..

As a newbie the first thing you need to get is that what you're talking about is setting up a business.

As a rule, in order for a business to make money, you need to sell stuff for less than you pay for it whether it be traffic or inventory/start up costs.

In order for your business to become successful you need to be providing some form of value to the marketplace. Ideally your product is worth more to your customers than the money they give you!

Find stuff to sell and then find people to buy it it's that simple.

What are you thinking about doing in IM?

You have meney? Well, there re a lot of option to spend it right way.....

    1. You have already spending money for 2 course.
    2. Start buying more....
    3. Bla Bla Bla

    Lets come to the point....
When you say you have money to spend that means you are willing to buy something that will not work. A lot of people will influence you to buy something or to do something as they know you have money.

But it can not be a solution. IM is something that can not depend on investing money other than it depends on making website. Start making a website. try to monetize it. It is the basic you need to learn first.

So don't spend your time with those course. I think you better should start thinking about it.

Well said. the basis of any online venture is a website and as a marketer you have to know how the internet works.

I would say study some personal development before buying any more products

I always read all the reviews, comments before I make a purchase and always look for a money back guarantee just in case something goes wrong. Some people might still be able to influence me but that's part of the learning process right?

I've already watched 1 hour/2 hour youtube videos on how to make websites and tried everything they did by myself. I don't think it's a waste of time and I'm always open to learning the basics or things that will be useful in the future. Besides one of the coaching programs i got into is about making websites and selling them on flippa. I just don't want to spend my time and money on BS WSO's. I just don't see the point. I'd rather spend my money on a good mentor who will help me with everything step by step. I know that some people spent years without making a dime and some people started making money in a short period of time. I realize that I don't have enough experience or knowledge to make a lot of money in a short period of time. I think that investing on a coach/mentor who will point me to the right direction will help me a lot at this time.

I just don't want to be one of those people who spend years and money without making a dime. I want to go in the right direction from the beginning and spend my money on the right things. I understand that this is a learning process and am willing to put in the work. I know that there are some experts on this forum and thought they could help me a little. That's why I made this thread.

          Thanks for your advice.
I am not a native so some of my expression is not good enough to write down I just wanted to say that why are you investing your time to learn making a site? Instead get a domain, use WP as back-end, get a free WP theme or buy a theme from the WSO section for a low price and start writing your content.

I personally believe affiliate marking needs a lot of time to earn a good amount of money as the market is very competitive. Instead find something that will help you to make some money within next 3 months as well as keep working on affiliate marketing. Start making your list by offering something valuable to people. Then after three month take some rest and check what is the result. If there is something missing find out the reason and surely you will be able to correct you by yourself.

What I belive is IM is something that does not need a mentor. It is you who can define success.

  • Heya Barind23,

Do you intend to build from scratch and operate a long term sustainable, scalable business, or just generate decent monthly income from a marketing investment venture until you start out with your long term career (I assume after you graduate from your chosen university studies)?

Ansering the question above will nicely put things in perspective, specifically in terms of your commitment to build your financial portfolio by initially using your available time, by establishing sustainable income for yourself, by growing your network, by accessing credit resources, by acquiring significant assets and by subsequently investing in other profitable ventures.

    Now, eitherway, you must:

    • List down your available resources. Specialized knowledge in certain industries. Significant skills in related subject areas. Real world authority expertise in relevant niches. Substantial experience that associated markets can relate to. Time. Money. Contacts in private and public institutions and communities. Next:

    • Pinpoint urgent problem areas and immediate needs in those industries, subject areas, niches and markets that you can solve and satisfy with your available resources. Then:

    • Choose between catering to players in B2B (Business to Business) markets, or to buyers in B2C (Business to Consumer) markets across your target industries. Next:

    • Choose between becoming a creator of innovative technologies, products, services and solutions for your chosen markets (B2B or B2C), or becoming an affiliate/distributor/retailer/wholesaler with something unique to offer the target consumer markets (B2B or B2C markets) of these creators. Then:

    • Formulate value added propositions. Combine your available resources and develop a set of solutions for those problem areas and needs that can't be found elsewhere. Now:

    • Familiarize yourself with SWOT. List down your Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats as someone who's trying to establish a business that'll be offering unique solutions for the specific problem areas and needs of specific markets in specific niches under specific subject areas covered by specific industries where you have specialized knowledge, significant skills, real world authority expertise, substantial experience, enough time, enough money and good network resources. At this point:

    • Integrate the right PPTs into the backend and frontend systems of your business development methods, production strategies, marketing campaign techniques and sales tactics. This means:

*** PPT. Hire the right People. Formulate the right Processes. Implement the right Technologies. And:

*** MSTT. Learn fundamental Methods, then effective Strategies, then efficient techniques, then results-oriented Tactics that are most appropriate for hitting the target projections of your business or marketing investment venture...

      • Heya Barind23,

Look around your real world -- You're surrounded by college students, each specializing in a specific industry, niche and subject area. They could be your manpower resources. Why? Here's an example B2B market situation:

If you have a concept for some software solutions with a continuity model (ongoing daily/weekly/monthly support, upgrades and updates) that could help solve the problems and satisfy the needs of startups and small to large scale businesses, then you could hire some of the students around you who are taking up programming courses, particularly those who intend to maximize the utility of their free time, earn good money with their programming skills or free time and establish a viable portfolio for themselves. Here's a specific example software product:

Web-based / Cloud Virtual Call Center Software

Startups, small and large businesses alike need quality customer phone support services, and they want easy to set up and simple to manage and operate solutions that can help them cut down their overheads and improve their customer retention, sales margins and repeat business profits with such a customer phone support solution. And:

People who intend to establish businesses of their own need a low cost, high efficiency solution that can lower down the entry barrier in this customer phone support industry, and they want a solution that's simple to setup and easy to operate.

Web-based virtual call center software offered as a monthly subscription plan to both these B2B markets can solve their specific problems and satisfy their particular needs that they can neither solve nor satisfy on their own. And:

There is already a continuity model implemented into such a solution (monthly subscription accounts), so you could generate more than decent income for yourself on a monthly basis. Plus:

You can go with a good hosting company to host your Web-based virtual call center software, allowing your manpower resources to only provide script maintenance, remote server administration, script update, patch, fix and upgrade installations, testing and debugging services and technical support services to your B2B customers. Also:

You can cost-effectively market this product online and offline, and you can also tap your available manpower resource market (the students around you) as your employees and affiliates who can implement your online and offline marketing campaigns. Plus:

You can use your money to consult an expert about the development and administration of similar software.

Think about it. Aside from startups and small to large scale companies, even the largest corporations in the world are outsourcing their customer phone support operations to other countries .

This means they want to simplify their managerial processes, cut down their overheads and still provide quality customer support services. So:

Allowing small players (in countries where these corporations are also based) to establish and operate a low cost, simple to run customer call center office (since equipment acquisition, monitoring and management as well as significant IT labor costs can be eliminated with this Web-based virtual call center software) will also increase the number of players who can invest in this industry, employ more people in these countries and offer reasonable rates that can compete with offshore call center companies, all while still complying with the requirements of these startup businesses, small to large scale companies and international corporations.

Anyway, this is just an example, and I'm sure you could think about other innovative solutions for specific B2B/B2C markets in specific industries, niches and subject areas...

I'm a 19 year old college student and I have a lot of free time since it's summer now(up to 8-12 hours to work on this). I can go out there and spend my time on stupid stuff like I do every summer but I want to spend my time on something that's actually good this time. I never had any money problems. My parents have a pretty good financial situation, however, I don't want to keep spending their money. I set some goals for myself such as getting my dream car before college ends. No matter how much money my parents have they will never buy me a very expensive car. They want me to earn it so I decided to earn it... They support me on this and will provide money support if I need it.

Long story short, I understand that everything is a new experience but I don't want to waste my time with some bs. I'm a hard worker and I have money to invest but I don't know what to invest my money on. I don't have much experience with IM so I need some help here. Other than the coaching programs, what do you think I should invest my money on? Would investing on complete done for you websites be a smart thing to do instead of making websites for affiliate marketing?

    Thanks.
Wow you figured out that most WSO's are B.S in 2 weeks good for you buddy most people dont figure that out for at least a year. But what I would recommend for you is to wait for the coaching programs to start before jumping into anything. You should try and focus on one thing and if your coaching programs are good they should guide you to the steps that you need to take. Now I notice that you joined 2 coaching programs I think you should have only joined one because sometimes being a part of two different ones can confuse the heck out of you. Hope you succeed!

    • Heya Barind23,

You could perhaps benefit from remembering what the two posters above said. These could be the lessons that they may be trying to tell you:

      • Always keep your facts straight, your opinions or theories realistic and logical, and your claims verifiable;

      • Draw clear lines between facts and opinions or theories and claims, and explicitly communicate this to your audience; and

      • Only make claims that can be substantiated with verifiable, real world facts...

You are doing the right thing to find coaching. I prefer to find those I can call a mentor. Some one or a few that I can count on for specific needs that I encounter in IM.

When I want to set up the techie stuff I have my favorite geek mentors. When I want to get an honest product review I have my favorite person. Some mentors I have paid for their advice while others are informally my mentors. It is important to know what you desire to pick those whom you will allow to influence your future in IM.

    Wish you the best

Just read through this forum. Identify the various ways of making money online (list them down) Do research on every one of them and make a decision on which ones you think are best for you (or match your personality). After you identify one method then start at it. Learn the skills you need to. This will make coaching so much easier since you already know what you want.

In essence buddy, this is what you need to do:

Learning a few technical expressions of the trade is a given, but I thought Id say it anyway

      1) Create a free report or other thing to give away.
      2) Put up a squeeze page offering the freebie
      3) Drive traffic to it and build a list.

Matey, with hand on heart, there's some great advice here. But as far as I can see, no-one has pointed out to you the simple model above which is what you should consider pursuing.

All the big name marketers do this and will tell you to do the same.

Of course you have to learn how to "Create a free report" and how to "Put up a squeeze page" etc etc.

This post is not intended to discuss all of that, but I really do suggest you follow that model, and don't stop following it until you're driving around in your dream car - lol.

I'll tell you what most people do when they start. They buy something, anything, and start it. Then they come across a part of the project that's a bit tricky and they begin to doubt their choice. At the same time, they see another 'bright shiny object' (as we call them) advertised on here or somewhere else that sounds way better. So they stop project #1 and start project #2.

Then comes #3 and #4 and by the time they get to #27 or more they realise it's all too hard and give up.

It involves a LOT of hard work, some expense, and bucket loads of persistence. it's kind of like a filter to get rid of all the chaff that really can't be arsed giving it their 'all'.

Decide on a solid reliable model (the one above). Set about 'doing' it. Don't give up. All the good stuff in all walks of life is outside your comfort zone, so prepare to be challenged, and steam through like the Titanic, with flying colors. OK, maybe the Titanic was a poor choice - lol. But you get the picture.

I have a post on my blog about this You're welcome to read it here ... http://zerotoheromarketing.com/my-li...rusade-part-1/

Hope this helps buddy, and welcome to IM

Clarity is a HUGE part of IM success. I hope this post brings some clarity. It's so simple when you know it -- and darn difficult when you don't! I owe my mentors a world of thanks for bringing this clarity.

IM is actually pretty simple: you can sell only one of two things:

    1. Products
    2. Services

    That's it!

And selling products or services online happens in the same basic way for everyone, no matter what they're selling:

    Traffic > Opt-in page > Autoresponder series (or e-zine) > Sales page

That's it! It's just that simple. (We IMers tend to overcomplicate things.)

But no matter what your niche is, or whether you're selling a product or a service, do you know what your business model is?

A business model is the framework or skeleton of your business. Essentially there are three types of online business models:

    1. Membership-based model

A membership-based business model allows you to build a community of people (your members) who are as passionate about your subject as you are. Your membership fees can be monthly or annual, but either way, you're building recurring, passive income.

There are a lot of resources and information out there to help you build a membership-based business if you're interested in doing this.

    2. Product-based model

Selling products allows you to maximize your time and effort by selling items over and over again. This can be hard goods or it can be information products. Information marketing is it's own business model under the product-based model. Information marketing allows you to take your brain to the bank by creating a product ONCE based on what you know and selling it over and over again.

Affiliate marketing falls under both models. You can choose to market either products or services as an affiliate.

    3. Service-based model

Selling services can be great for 1) generating quick cash (as in the case of article writing or video producing) and 2) establishing your expertise and getting testimonials.

However, in the long run, your goal should be to offer services at a PREMIUM. The biggest advantage of IM is LEVERAGE. You're able to leverage your time, money and expertise exponentially online. We all have just 24 hours each day. Time to get ruthless about what you expect for those hours you spend in IM each day. Expect more of yourself and more from your business friends, clients, partners, etc.

What results are you getting for those hours you spend online each day? Ultimately, your services should be at the bottom of your funnel and cost the most since they involve your time and personal attention. (We all have a limited amount of time each day.)

The fun (and confusion) comes in with all of the endless mix-and-match possibilities of the above models. If you're just starting or still struggling to make money, keep it simple:

    Pick just ONE!

    1. Pick ONE niche. (Something you're interested in and know something about.)

    2. Pick ONE target market for your product or service. (Who will buy what you're offering? The more specific you are, the more you narrow it down, the more successful you'll be.)

    3. Pick ONE business model.

Now that you're clear about what business you're in, FOCUS! (And stop buying any info not related to your niche and target market, period!)

    F -- Follow
    O -- One
    C -- Course
    U -- Until
    S -- Successful

And remember: build a list, Build a List, BUILD A LIST!

In IM, it's easy to put the cart before the horse. Take a deep breath, step back and consider what type of business you REALLY want. Don't worry about getting traffic or buying that expensive traffic product until you know 1) what your business model is, 2) what niche you're in and 3) WHO your target market is!

Successful business people will tell you that MARKETING is more than half the effort that's needed for success anyway. So pick a niche, target market and business model. Then spend most of your time and effort marketing it.

If you DON'T have a solid plan or system, THAT'S when it's hard. A good system will shave YEARS (and save you big $$$) off of your learning curve

That's why I recommend investing in at least one good, comprehensive IM course (or mentor who will give you such a system) instead of jumping from one $37 e-book to the next. A lot of people here complain about not being able to make any money. But neither are they willing to invest in their business. (Buying a random bunch of $37 e-books doesn't count.)

The best thing I ever did was invest in a comprehensive IM course aimed at REAL business owners, not just other IM wannabes. Yes it was $1500. (It's no longer available.) But it was truly some of the best A-Z IM info I ever bought. Everything else I've learned (from the $37 e-books) since has simply been plugged into this system.

Get a solid plan or system and then work the plan!

    Hope this helps!

So what type of coaching that you're in? With you're just started 2 weeks ago and decided to jump on a coaching program, I think it's not the best decision to hire a coach right away.. You need to really get the basic first and decide what type methods that you want to focus.. Just my opinion though.

Well, you can do that, if you think you can differentiate between a website that has potential and a useless one.

Start with affiliate marketing. There are a hundreds of different methods (free ones too) in which you can promote a product.

This forum, especially war room has a lot of resources and tutorials on those methods, so spend time reading this forum.

You can direct the traffic you generate from your traffic methods to your site (which will have a ton of quality content and your affiliate links) or a squeeze page from which you'll build your list.

If you are going down the list building road, check out the dotcom secret x or im john chow products (depending on your budget). They are step by step programs that teach you everything you need to know on the subject.

Spend your money carefully now. There are certain things toy absolutely need, like a domain, hosting, autoresponder etc. So, spend your money on those first.

    Hope that helped.

I wish I started learning html from day 1..As soon as I started learning about tech stuff, product and membership site ideas became more vivid to me. When you get into html, you can start building squeeze pages <----list building. Later into some programming.

You can then sell your skills on elance and there is always jobs on CL. People pay top dollar for this. I know people may argue that they could hire a programmer for 10 bucks an hour on odesk or something but believe me just as many people will pay you 30-50 bucks an hour to hire an english speaking person to do these jobs.

Not all WSO's are "BS" The ones that you purchased are. First, you are entitled to your opinion. You have only been in the busy for all short time. Ask around and you'll find the ones to buy from.

My question to you is why do you need to coach? I'm a big fan of coaching. I spend the majority of my time pushing Marketer to take action on the knowledge that they already have. If you translated that it means skills.

Coaches are hired to improve specific skills. Speaking, Writing, Negotiating, Presentations, Traffic etc. Since you know everything why do you need a coach?

I suggest going to the WSO section and getting a popular WSO with good reviews on a topic you like.

Then take action UNTIL YOU SUCCEED.. Don't buy anything else until you succeed.

    Cheers,

    Gary

    Thanks.
